I went to the opening session at Movix Saitama-Shintoshin and found out that the 9am session was cheaper (1300 yen) than regular price (1900 yen?).
Have overseas release dates been announced yet?

I think some theaters may have cheaper prices for morning and late shows.

Can anyone that seen the movie tell me if the ending is bittersweet like 5 centimeters per second or if there is a great payoff in the end?

All I could say is that it has the happiest ending out of all Makoto Shinkai's films.

Several people around me at the Anime Expo screening commented that they were afraid the ending was heading in the same direction as "5 Centimeters per Second" but were relieved it didn't.
During the post-screening Q&A, the moderator/translator asked Makoto Shinkai what was his inspiration for "Your Name." His reply was something like "I wanted to try making a happy story for a change," which got a huge laugh from the audience.

I believe Funimation may release this in theaters.
@ly00001 yes, if it had ended like that, despite my love for the guy's work, you would have heard me yell "are you kidding me??" from one end of that hall to the other.
[Edit]: removed reference to unlicenced streaming site. Errinundra.
