Weird, I was just thinking about this show today. Certainly never expected a second season, though! Maybe if this parallel-universe bizarreness persists we'll get continuations of Haruhi and Spice and Wolf...

I'm of course excited for this, and I trust the author, but what will this be about? The story wrapped up pretty well in the first season. But more Yasaburo can't help but be entertaining, so bring it on!
There was no Blu-ray box set for this in Japan until now? How did that happen?
Yeah, NISA needs to dust themselves off and get back to releasing anime. I need them to do both seasons of Rakugo and the next season of Natsume, and now this. Whose ear to I whisper into? |
Literally all of this.
Loved the authors entire comment. Way too much fun.
No idea where this is going to go, and it seems like just an incredibly strange choice for a follow up series, especially considering the disc sales of season one, but I guess it must have sold enough books, or something. I am definitely excited for it, regardless.

Wonderful news. And with the same team behind season 2, my expectations are high.

Glad it did well enough for more. Will definitely be waiting for it, but I would also like to have the two novels translated. PLEASE. PRETTY PLEASE. Give us the source material to gorge on as well. The little blurbs regarding it in the NISA handbook amounts to one big fat tease.

Absolutely fantastic news. Really loved the first season and look forward to more. Oh those rascally shape-changing tanukis...

What fabulous news! Maybe Yajirou will find a way to transform from his frog self back into a bishounen? And who's that creepy priest guy behind Yasaboru? (O_O)
More wacky tanuki hijinks~
I would love if NIS America could bring the Blu Ray edition over of season 1 and Eccentric Family season 2. Hopefully this and Natsume Go will come to the US in 2017!

If you are referring to the Japanese BD box of season 1, there is a high chance it will have English subtitles, just like the JP singles for that season. And I assume the JP discs for season 2 will also have English subs.

Yes!!! Put me in the camp of "super-excited about this news, but never expected it."

I'm a little confused by this. NIS America did release a Blu-ray edition of Season 1. It's listed as "out of stock" on NISA's website, but both RightStuf and Amazon show it as being "in stock."

I asssume that means that NISA itself is out of physical copies, but some of the online retailers that offer it are not. Still, I would say that if anyone is on the fence about picking up season 1, you probably don't want to leave it too much longer. Dealing with OOP prices is never fun.

Woohoo! The first season was great. Nice to see a second novel and a second season. I too hope NISA will bring this over
