I'm really sorry to hear about this, especially as the article states that he's been experiencing this since April and yet this is the first that I've heard of it on this site. I've met Matsumoto a couple times and he is a super sweet man. I know that he was hoping that he would eventually be well enough to return to drawing manga, so I'm really sorry to see that he's been set back again.

My only question is did he do that recording for the Kickstarter before or after his ailment got worse? If after, it must've been pretty painful to sit up, if it's that bad. And I hope he managed ok.

^ The large sketch offered in the Kickstarter appears to have been drawn when Matsumoto was a guest at PMX in 2013. If you look at the marker he's holding, it has the convention's logo. I have one myself.
