This is really nothing new. its just a summation of where things stand. Its nice of the to make such a statement to make things clear though.
The news about the dubbing is interesting though.

I'm glad that they have finally made a statement that gives us a clear idea on the situation that should stop us guessing and worrying to exaggerated levels.
You have no idea how relieved I am after knowing that they intend -at least for the time being- to continue releasing anime, like many I was worried about the fate of some of their unfinished products, especially When They Cry and The story of Saiunkoku which I just began collecting and absolutely love.
Hope they resolve this soon.

See, I knew this word turn up eventually... it got kind of annoying with everyone being all "RIP, Geneon, you will be missed", when all they had officially said, was that they wouldn't be taking orders, and they didn't have a distribution partner. No mention was made of them dropping their entire catalogue, leaving the US market, or anything... but on came the fansub doomsayers...
Thankfully, this has proved otherwise. They hit a hiccup, a major hiccup, but are doing everything they can to get back on track. This fan will patiently wait for his Higurashi DVDs to come out, be it sooner or later.
Thank you, Geneon, you will be appreciated!

Intentions do not equal actions. Geneon Entertainment USA hopes to continue somewhat as before, but there are still no guarantees that they will be able to follow through. I hope that Dentsu does give them that opportunity, but I will wait and see.

I really hope they continue Shounen Onmyouji! Their dub of that is so cute (to me anyway)!

That made me laugh. There's not a whole lot of "evolution" going on with them at this point.

I second that. This fan will also be waiting patiently for the last three Higurashi dvds. I'm just glad to know that they are doing all they can to get back up and running again to release the rest of this show, as well as many others. Let us all remain hopeful of this notion. I would just really hate it if I was left with only half a series again like I am with Tenshi ni Narumon!. (I'm still a little pissed off about that one, but that's another story, another company, but still relevant to the topic.)

Well you have to admit, it's hard not to plan a company's funeral when they fire pretty much all of their important staff (marketing and production in this case) and their obviously important deal with another company falls apart. Looking at things as a worst case scenario isn't so much alarmist as it is realistic.
Of course, regardless of what Geneon does ultimately do, the company will not be the same as it was previously. They are going to change, possibly drastically, as a result of all of this. So, in a way, Geneon is quite dead and we're all just waiting to see what Geneon Reborn will be like.
Damn nice to hear reports that work is continuing on some of their series, although the fact that there is no official confirmation is slightly bothersome. (Personally, I won't really believe it until the various DVDs are in my hand.)

I'm with the general sentiment of, yeah he didn't really say anything we didn't already know, but at least he said something. When a company I dump a lot of money into at least says SOMETHING to me in times of crisis, it really does help. Call it lame or whatever you want, but that's just my stance.
It's a lack of communication and unwillingness to to "just say something" that really burns me sometimes (though typically I've experienced this mostly in gaming from companies like Valve or almost every MMO publisher ever.)
So, not out of the forest yet, but I don't really feel quite as bummed either. Time will tell though.

Well, I'm glad that something was said officially, even though it leaves us still up in the air over the status of our unfinished DVDs.
But, like the rest of you, I'm hopeful that they will get things re-organized and will release the final DVDs of incomplete series.
I'm not holding my breath on the licensed but unreleased ones.
