I would understand if it was for the upcoming movie, but five random episodes? What?
But it is cool that it's apparently popular enough with an older audience to get something like this.

whenever I see "adult only" paired with "anime" I think hentai, so i was curious why children's anime is getting an adult screening and in theaters no less. All was cleared up once I read the article.

I thought the exact same thing until I read the article.

I saw the Aikatsu movie in theaters and most people were children with their parents. xD
~~
But Aikatsu does collaboration and other events quite often that are limited only to adults...like all night events and stuff with DJs or screenings of lives and gameplay.

Well good for them even though this show is intended for young girls it's nice that Adult fans can go to an event without getting strange looks or feel threatened by parents (I know what that feels like)

My first impression of this is "Is Aikatsu going hentai?"
Just kidding. It is good that Aikatsu has attracted adults. What concerns me though is that some of them maybe, well, you know....

Ots no coincidence that the article titles are sometimes a little misleading. Its pretty much click bait. If you check this site long enough you notice that it happens quite often.

The title states exactly what it is: a screening for only adults. Having "adults" and "only" in the same sentence will make anyone think of porn, even if it's properly used for something that's NOT porn.
I've never seen any legit clickbait here either, and I've been reading this site for years, so sit down.

I think it is only because of the adult fans the franchise is still going. It is the adult fans who collect all the cards from each game cycle, buy the limited edition blurays, go to the live concerts, etc. I don't know how well this franchise would be doing if it was just parents giving their kids some spare change to play the game at the arcade.

Look, I agree there are some clickbaity articles and article titles every now and then (I remember seeing an article on this site a while back with all these headache inducing GIFs and it was like something straight out of Buzzfeed) but this? This is clickbait?
It's not intentionally misleading. Shibuya Theater is planning Adults Only Aikatsu screenings. That's exactly how it is. But in case that doesn't satisfy you I'll fix it for you.
"Shibuya Theater is planning Adults Only Aikatsu screenings by the way Adults Only doesn't mean something sketchy is going on or that there's going to be porn or anything like that they are just adults watching a totally innocent childrens cartoon"

Just as a point of reference, the Aikatsu arcade machines in Akihabara tend to have long lines that are about 70% older men and 30% young women...
There are plenty in normal department stores around the country too and those are pretty much just for kids.

Some are embarassed that they may get really bad stares for attending an event that's for kids. Parents there may be looking to find the next pedo even though chances are they might be profiling an innocent person or profile a "suspected" lolicon who most likely wouldn't harm a fly.

Something tells me I'd be less embarrassed at a regular screening.
