Vertical will always be #1 for this. Hopefully this means it's successful enough for them to bring the rest over in a more timely fashion.

Sweet. I own Kizumonogatari, and I plan on getting Bakemonogatari. Nice to know there's still more on the way.

I'd say they already are bringing them over in a pretty timely fashion. The three parts of Bake are being published in December, January, and February, respectively, and then the first part of Nise is coming out in April? That is fairly quick, for a novel.

It's cool to see Vertical putting out the releases quickly and I'm happy that it looks like there going for the full series translation

When I said timely fashion, I was more talking about the fairly big gap between Kizu and Bake v1. the 5 volumes solicited currently are DEFINITELY timely, I was just wondering if they're speeding the rest of the novels release windows up as well (by that, I mean, will we get nekomonogatari shortly after Nise, or will there be another 1+ year gap till it?)

i'm kinda surprised that they aren't releasing nekomonogatari black, since it is directly related to tsubasa cat from bakemonogatari, and the second story timeline wise. otherwise, its great to be getting all the novels so close together.

Seriously? This was their only announcement? I'd like to know what Gundam series they're getting because I voted in that poll they did two years ago and nothing has come of that...

Doesn't seem like too much of a surprise, from what it looks like Vertical will be following the release order of the original light novels now, with kizumonogatari being the exception since it was the better decision to start off there.

Yes! I figured this was coming, but it seems that they are really on top of it. I love you Vertical, Mr. Chavez, and all of your top notch translators. You guys are doing great work. This sort of timeline is impressive as well. I know it is tough translating this kind of stuff.

I would count on it. It sounded to me like the gap was primarily due to the fact that they didn't know what to expect from Kizu at first. Now that they know it's a blow-the-doors-off success, I can imagine they will try to keep them coming out at a pretty consistent and quick pace.

I was very worried about Kizumonogatari and if VERTICAL's translation would cause the series to lose a lot of it's original charm. Fortunately I was blown away by how well they translated it, they rose to the occasion where I completely expected them to fail. Hopefully despite the quickened release schedule(3 books over 3 months and then Nise in April) the translation continues at it's current quality.

I may be mis-remembering, but I talked to Ed a bit at a convention earlier this year and it sounded like it took roughly 6 months for Ko Ransom to translate Kizu, so I'm guessing they will have to use at least a couple more translators. Knowing them though, I'm not really worried about the quality. Everything I own by Vertical has a top notch translation so far, and if they can get Ko Ransom to do even just a couple novels per year, I'll be happy. His translation for Kizu is perfect in my mind.

+1
Hope that this means we'll end up getting all the novels for the franchise...though that may still be something that is a long way off from happening. There's a lot of books...
