Eh. I'd rather see My Hero Academia. But I guess I'll give this a shot if it's on.

So happy that Toonami is making my Saturday nights great again. DBZ, OPM, Gundam and HxH. I feel like a anime fan in Middle School again!

Lovely. If I had cable I would totally watch this baby. As it is, I hope there will be a number of viewers to support this.

That was quick. Just don't destroy the ship, Saitama. We need Tom.

Well so far my fears of horror shows from this convention are kind of unfounded and I'm pleasantly surprised to say it although still a little guarded waiting for some catch to appear. I must admit though ACJ and it's affiliates are doing what REALLY desperately needs to be done right now and getting good and consumer fair streaming deals with the likes of Crunchyroll, Netflix and Toonami for their content to get the word out there and maybe even start to make anime feel like something that belongs to a community rather than something that belongs to corporations as a middle man which they then charge the fans up the ass for. Overpriced physical media seems on it's way to being phased out (faster here than in Japan but then what else is new) at long last and IMO nothing but good things can come of this. It also seems like *gasp* the industry might actually be *gasp* listening to some fan concerns with certain things like dubbing and access for more regions which is a very pleasant surprise because I hadn't gotten the sense of late that they cared much anymore.
I don't know and however fleeting it is thanks for giving me something positive to say about some things you did recently industry without needing to add to much of a but. You have to keep the good will ball building and rolling now and continue to shrug off that IMO incredibly unappealing exclusive ultra premium priced "Cool Japan" product image that the anime industry has been projecting for most of the 2000's and continue the work to replace it with the inclusive Global Medium image it desperately needs to stay relevant and fans have to not get too contented and give them the impression that it's okay to just walk all over them with things like limited edition $125 boxsets for half a TV series in bloody 2016. Still not cool nor will it ever be. I also think Crunchyroll and the ACJ Daisuki initiative deserves some credit for doing some good ground work here in making sure they get the streaming deals that allow for as much access and choice as possible. This is the sort of stuff that I think works to build a healthier and happier community in the long run which again is something I think anime's really needs to get back too. It's just been too divided and nasty for too long now and an exclusive premium priced product image with limited and expensive ways to legally get at the content only helps to foster that sort of atmosphere and drive unhealthy borderline elitist tendencies.

This weird positive feeling I've had about anime and it's possible directions in the last couple days is kind of nostalgic though it can't make up for years of bad will in just one weekend. There's still a couple days and really the rest of a year to drop the ball and a lot of the titles currently announced for 2017 really don't look so hot and like something only special interest audiences in Japan would go for. This needs to change over the rest of the years project announcements.
Still after what feels like 3 consecutive years of consecutive doubling down on the sorts of insanely bad corporate policies that hamper more than enhance the mediums accessibility at least IMO have just been killing my buzz for the medium there's a very faint glimmer of hope and optimism that is there in me for the first time since the earliest parts of the decade that hasn't been immediately squelched the very next day by more bad policy and ideas. I mean I really had thought this industry in it's current state had just entirely given up on being another other than a pass time for 50,000 or so otaku in Japan with the seemingly unending deluge of Light Novel titles clogging up the airwaves and had decided that the sorts of initiatives we are seeing this weekend are either too expensive, unnecessary to turn a profit (I'm assuming the anime industry had been going for a low risk status quo break even approach indefinitely) or both.
Yet when I see things like Gundam, HxH and OPM (IMO among the most accessible shows to everyday people worldwide to come out of late) are airing on Toonami and terrestrial television in North America I think THIS is the direction the industry desperately and long since needs to be taking, especially with the rather dire results from the outdated Blu-Ray based business model of the Spring season being like a warning klaxon saying change course now or abandon ship cause the targeting the same 50K or so otaku in Japan approach is no longer sustainable. New blood, new fans (hopefully more pleasant and rational ones too), new demographics, new potential sources of that precious revenue the industry so clearly loves and embracing streaming and avoiding the premium pricing "superior product for cool kids that can and are willing to afford it" model as the sole choice. The only question is just why this has taken so long to do these sorts of things and get these kinds of accessible and affordable streaming deals instead of just pigeonholing itself to the point of near oblivion.

Interesting. I'm already planning on DVRing the episodes since I don't want to stay up late to watch it on TV.

Perhaps they will air it sometime later on when they have enough room for additional shows.

oh no you'll have to pay the same price the Japanese fans have to in their own country for the raw media DDDD: what a tragedy!! This is absolute price gouging!!
