Lots of good sports anime coming out these days! When I was growing up, all I had was eyeshield 21 and prince of tennis mangas (later anime). Oh yeah, and the classic slam dunk.
Now we have a very popular basketball and volleyball multi season show, swimming, running, announced rugby, announced soccer, announced skating! I'm very happy the sports genre is expanding. |

That aside. If it's half as good as Captain Tsubasa (J particularly) or Hungry Heart Wild Striker, I'll be satisfied. |

The sport's called different names in different countries. It just happens to be called 'soccer' in Japan, so it's correct in this instance. |
