This one looks better than the previous imo.
Still very mixed thoughts about the upcoming series though...

If the show is CG, then why hand draw the key visual.

Because we don't know if it's really CG.

I hope that's a hand drawn illustration, this may be a worthwhile adaptation after all!

It seems to be a new mix of 2d and CG, it looks like the current Anime Video Games.

Is it just me, or is the handle at a different angle to the rest of the blade?

That picture looks gritty.

It appears weird at first due to a combination of the angle of the whole sword and Guts's hand obscuring part of the handle with his grip, but it does actually line up with the angle of the pommel and the blade.
Miura's supervising it, that's interesting to hear. Anxious to see the new PV coming out today or tomorrow. And yeah, the series seems to be a mix of drawn and CG animation.

I'll refrain from judging this until I've seen the actual show but I won't hold my breath.

Oh, my. Looks quite different than the PV's style.

I've yet to watch any Berserk (though I'm quite familiar with it), but depending on how this new season goes will decide whether or not I do (I don't like the CGI of the films, and I don't like action or action-fantasy enough to look past the visual presentation if I'm not going to go any further with the story anyway- though of course if I start the series I'll watch the original anime first).
I know I could just read the manga if I wanted to and forget all the bs that comes with the adaptations of this series but I don't really read manga much and this isn't likely to become an exception.
I am liking this key visual though. Not indicative enough to say what the season itself is going to look like but it's certainly a nice image.

It's CG, but when they close in on characters and to show some effects they temporarily transit to 2D.

Did you miss the PV teaser? It's definitely CG. Looked on par with the movies. I wish I could be excited for this anime, because the manga is among the best, if not THE best seinen manga out there, but this CG BS needs to stop. They're ruining a great story with terrible visuals.

Okay so are we starting over again? With all the key elements from the book? Because I see Puck in the image.
Not sure I like the CG. I'd rather see it done the old way.

It looks pretty good as a still image, but how will it look in motion? I especially don't like how CG anime often uses a low frame rate. While I get that hand drawn anime has a low frame rate too, it just doesn't work as well with CG. Hopefully this Berserk anime doesn't make that mistake.
