Great news! I added this to my shopping list right away. I guess I would have preferred some older Hagio title, but I'll take anything.

Great news! This is a good one, and it's only four volumes long.
The Nihon SF Taisho allows works in various media to compete with one another, although a novel nearly always wins.
"Barbara Ikai" was the first manga to win this award since Katsuhiro Otomo's "Domu" won it back in the 80s, so it had been a while.

Excellent news. Now if only they'd say something about Wandering Son vol. 9.

also from the listing:
Quote: | In this classic science fiction thriller by one of the most influential manga writer-artists of all time, there are dream pilots, murderous cannibal nine-year-olds, and more. |
Murderous cannibal nine-year-olds? ok, I'm in. Just pre-ordered.
And hurry up with the second volume please.

Sweet! I hope they (or anyone, really, I'm not too picky) keep publishing manga by the magnificent 49ers! I remember there was a random color page from this manga in their Drunken Dream collection, which piqued my inters test, great to know they're actually doing it! And in two hardcover volumes, yay! Not beating the excitement for Rose of Versailles of course, but still very excited anyway!

So exciting! Fantagraphics prices their manga really high, but that's because the volumes are so nice (hardcover, large pages, high quality paper and printing). They're meant to last.

Yessssssss
I'm assuming this means that the other Hagio titles have sold pretty well, which is awesome. Keep on supporting fans!! I really don't know if this can be better than Thomas, but wow, the description sounds like it very well could.
