They got us with the Zack casting because this was going to happen. Next is Trini. Let's see how that goes.

I'm positive she'll be Latin American of some sort. The casting has hit America (Red Ranger), Europe (Pink), Asia (Black), and Africa (Blue), that's the only region they haven't touched yet. Plus her description says "her parents constantly move for work" which could indicate they're migrant workers. I think someone is confusing Power Rangers for Captain Planet. Emerje |

They're probably going to have to change her last name since 'Kwan' is a very Asian name. Though, I can also see them casting an Asian actress out of respect for Thuy Trang. Having an Asian man as the Black Ranger, it'll probably make the implications less unfortunate. |

Um, Power Rangers have always made an effort to have a pretty diverse cast. Lets not pretend this is a new phenomenon. So please, no boycotts. |

Yes, but the original featured three white American kids (even after they replaced most of the cast), the recasting is definitely going for global diversity. Mind you I'm not trying to be racist or prejudice, it's just an observation. Emerje |

Who said it was going to be based on the original? This looks like a whole new group, makes sense that it wouldn't be the same. Also, this dude is American, not African. |

So, they just happen to have the same first names as the original MMPR characters? Guess I'll just wait for them to pull off a swift one, as I've not seen the last names for any of the characters. It could all just be a coincidence. |

If this really is set in the same continuity, it'd be weird for them to have the same names as the originals. |

Yeah, will be interesting when everything is revealed. They could just be placeholders, but then, they could've just gone with the ranger colours instead of actual names.
