Will they manage to make competitive snap & go nowhere romance less boring than the anime? Trailer says maybe.

^ That go nowhere romance is what made me give up this whole franchise.
If I hear that she leans more to one side in this film (which I doubt) then I might give it a try.

Season 1 was their first year of high school.
Season 2 was the first half of their second year of high school.

I looked at a recent issue of the manga a couple months ago. The characters have just started their third year of high school.

Given the progression of the seasons, I suppose there's enough material for a third season, if it covers the last half of their second year. However, the reason for many manga-based anime is to hype the manga. Since this movie will hype the manga on its own, there's less reason for a third season of the anime now.

I would try this out if Chihaya ends up with Arata. The karuta main theme is boring as heck and if the romance is not defined there ain't nothing worth watching.

This looks ridiculously over-the-top and silly and I am already psyched to see it.

How can this series--the manga if nothing else--go unlicensed? It's a fantastic character-driven story, and I personally love the complex (albeit frustrating) romance.
