How is this going to work? Are they going to pick up from where the OVAs left off? or are they going to re-adapt the material? (or re-edit the OVAs into the first few episodes????) :/

Yeeessssss [expletive] finally! Now this is an amazing announcement! With all the OVAs I was worried we'd never see an anime adaptation, this is so exciting!
Hopefully readapt the material because the OVAs left a lot of stuff out and rushed through a lot of character development. |

I really liked Magi. So don't see any problem with A1. Hopefully the new studio will do just as good or better.

And I was just about to watch the Sinbad OVA's when they were all out. Now I have to wait and see where the tv anime takes place so I can decide whether to watch them or not.

Though there's no source to prove it, I always got the impression that Lay-duce was just some sub-studio of A-1, just from how similar their production values can be when you compare them. (Though, this is just my opinion, and as i said, there's nothing saying whether it is or isn't) |

Enjoyed the first Magi season, have yet to watch the 2nd. But, from what I saw of Sinbad in season 1, really liked the character. Happy to see him getting a TV anime.

I got home late last night and just when I got into bed, I could hear my TV recording something and wondered what it was. I had forgotten about the Magi special. (And this is why it is important to schedule recordings ahead of time...)
WELL NOW~ =D I couldn't be more happy! I'm pretty sure they will re-do the material covered by the OADs since 1. they won't have as much material if they leave it out, and 2. probably not everyone watched the OADs. |

I'm watching my recording of the Magi special now. I wasn't expecting OnoD to make an appearance so that's a very nice surprise. Anyway, they said that the TV series will cover the stories about Sinbad's father and how Sinbad meets the hachininshou. It'll be one cours long.
