I wouldn't mind them doing a KS that wasn't Tezuka. Sure he was a great author and artist, but not the only one in the world.

Also i think many pepole in the USA/west hardly realize how many things Tezuka has actually made especially when vertical dropped tezuka i lost it cause it seemed for a while it was over with Tezuka for the English market while so many meh stuff was coming out ... We still talk about a good 350+ volumes which have never been offically translated in english ... alot of it is way better then the crap that makes it on New York best seller list that's for sure. And these kickstarters are going way to slow for my taste another 2 month break in between again ... this way it's still going to take forever 15+ years ... before we are even close to everything and then i haven't even mentioned Tezuka anime/etc which alot of people seem to ignore for the most part ... |

I grew up on the Wonder Three (Amazing 3) anime so I'm in on this. Would love a kickstarter on the anime.

Real is a manga publish by Viz. DMP did do a Kickstarter for the Finder series to republish it.
Vertical didn't drop Tezuka. DMP picked up the rights to the whole Tezuka catalog. Which means Vertical can no longer get the rights to any other Tezuka titles. Ed Chavz (from Vertical) has said something along the lines of being disappointed to not be able to publish Tezuka titles anymore.
DMP did try a Kickstarter to start publishing the whole catalog but that was unsuccessful. They have also e-published a few titles in there e-manga store. They are also looking to hire a Tezuka Specialist so they seem pretty committed to this. I honestly, this the Kickstarters are a little to frequent. How many people have the money to keep up with them all? And if customers don't have money to buy the products they make then there is no point in making them. As for the anime titles it is even harder to sell an older anime title than an older manga. Current anime fans tend only be interested in the last couple of years of anime. So, only a very select group would be interested. So, it is likely licensing costs are to high for most companies to take the risk. |

I'm actually surprised that they are publishing this one. I know that this was animated as well. I definitely be looking for a release date.

It ended nearly 70 days ago actually. I've had time to nearly move on from Tezuka entirely in that period. |

I would also love some more yaoi Kickstarters. The last one ended months ago and there are a lot of titles in the June library that I'd love to see reprinted and/or released in its entirety. Now that YaoiCon 2015 is over, we need a new package for next year!
