Here's my list of classic Nintendo games that could make good movies:
Castlevania III
Oops, seems megaman isn't on there.

Hmm, no mention of the long running Archie Comics Mega Man series? It's been ongoing for some 50 or so issues, and has had some Mega Man X stuff too (along with cross-overs with Sonic the Hedgehog and other Capcom characters, like Viewtiful Joe, some of the Street Fighter crew...Alex Kidd was there too...).
As for a Mega Man movie? While I'm a fan of the games (moreso the X franchise) and am collecting the comic book series, I don't see this as a property that'd come off well in as live action movie.

Chernin group is good, and wouldn't surprise to eventually show up on Crunchyroll

Those movies failed more because of who wrote the scripts and directed them not because of who produced them.

Let's not forget X-Men where only two of the movies in the seven-going-on-eight film series really sucked.

...hmmm. Well, good luck with that. I think I'd rather watch Pixels or be grossly underwhelmed elsewhere. I don't think they are going to be able to flesh out the story of this franchise with all of its dramatic components. Inafune-sensei? What do you think about all of this?

Video game movie adaptations will never get the respect that they deserve because the people behind it really can't even get the basics of story and character development right at all.
With Fox doing this, judging by how they did the latest Hitman movie, I have absolutely no faith that they will do something like Mega Man right at all.
Also, screw you Fox for ruining the Fantastic Four yet again!

It's important to remember that the Japanese companies that give such companies the nod to make adaptations of their games should be also to blame because they did just that.

The problem is you have these hack writers and directors who are so methodical in treating these like live-action video games. Now Mega Man would work if it were done as animated film. If they go for live-action,it will probably be a terrible CGI-fest.

Why should the Japanese companies be blamed for taking a large sum of up-front cash in return for giving hollywood a _chance_ to make a good movie?
Do you really think it's Japanese meddling that ruins Hollywood films of Japanese products? (maybe in some very rare cases)
And it's not like Megaman has some sacred lore or cannon that must be protected... It's basically a rip-off of Tezuka and Tatsunoko's early works to begin with.
That being said I can't see how you could make a decent movie or movie franchise from Megaman... Maybe Megaman X or Megaman 0 but I can't see doing anything live action that wouldn't just look ridiculous as pretty much all the characters are robots... Maybe like a grown-up, grittier version?
Also, from a practical perspective, you'd have to include 8 robot masters, right? But there's no way you can fit _8_ climactic battles in a single movie. Would Megaman fight them like, 4 at a time in the movie or something?
Now that I think about it didn't bruce lee make something similar in "Game of Death"? Even that would have only included 5 bosses.

Should be interesting. So long as it's not a complete disaster like any other series (anime or game) that has been turned into a movie.
