Probably the first Sentai show on Toonami period since I don't think Sentai technically existed when Toonami was on Cartoon Network, although they aired a few ADV things back then.

Now I usually don't hate on dub but omfg this one is just awkward as heck. Which company dubbed this? I've heard better recently in 2014-2015 and this is one of the worst ones i've heard in 2015.

Sentai started back in 2008,the same year Cartoon Network ended Toonami.so this will Sentai's first anime on the current Toonami, which is on Adult Swim.

Seraphim Digital is the production arm of Sentai Films and they dubbed Akame Ga KILL.

It's only a matter of time before Sentai reveals the seiyuu that are in the show...
While I understand that the trailer may sound out-of-place to some, I think the voices might be better when the show is actually out.

Sentai always waits until the last possible second to officially announce dub casts. Sometimes they announce them the day their DVDs/Blu-rays officially release, which is moot since they're usually shipped to consumers a couple weeks beforehand, and the cast was already revealed by those who bought them.
But yes, this is the first Sentai show on Toonami, and even the first ADV show to get a regular Toonami/[adult swim] run other than Evangelion, Super Milk Chan, and Giant Robot Week. None of those were too successful, so here's hoping this works out! ADV usually put stuff on Sci-Fi and Encore Action.

The dub of the first episode seemed fine for the most part. Wasn't a huge fan of the delivery for some of Akame's lines, but we'll see how things progress when she has more to say in an episode. Tatsumi sounds perfectly fine and I'm a big fan of Leone's dub voice. Those are the only recurring characters with any substantial lines though as the others only got a single line or two so gotta wait to see how they'll sound next week.

I thought the dub sounded pretty good honestly(and this is a sentai filmworks dub so it would have been hit or miss)

I really wasn't impressed with what little I heard of Mine, as she had almost a Valley Girl sound, but the rest seemed okay. And it was good to hear Allison Keith still getting work; the possibility of her being cast as Leone hadn't occurred to me, but she should be a good fit.

I've never seen this show before and watched it for the first time tonight. I thought the dub was pretty good. and it was nice hearing people I haven't really heard before. (looking at funimation.....)
I also really liked the raspy type voice the blonde girl that looks like a fox was given. She also reminds me of yang from RWBY for some reason, lol.(and no it's not the chest and the blond hair.)
and for the first time, I did not see that coming at the end there...at all which is unusal for me...

Tatsumi's voice sounded too squeaky, but I can already hear it getting toned down in this episode. I'm guessing his actor will hit his stride.
As for Leone, she acts like Rainbow Dash if she was an assassin, so it's fitting Leone would sound like Rainbow Dash too.

Just watched the first Episode on Toonami tonight and it was really awesome, I'll see about going back and binge watching this on Hulu after the Toonami Broadcast (I'm well aware that I'm doing it backwards as in watching dubs before subs when it's normally vice versa). I can't wait to watch more and also eventually adding the Manga to my collection.

I've watched every single episode yesterday on Crunchyroll. I still prefer the original Japanese language version. This is such an awesome show to watch. I highly recommend it.

I was pleased with it. Especially the censorship. Which i saw hardly any of.

its pretty obvious from the trailer that the cast are the basic ADV/Funi vets mixed in with newbies. especially since seraphim digital is doing the dub. for instance that aria girl is the same VA that did mikoto misaka for both index and railgun as well as wendy from fairy tail.
though whether they will use their real names or use aliases like in samurai bride is the real 64 dollar question.

As far as I'm aware, no aliases.
