"In the Naruto franchise, Icha Icha Paradise is the first in Jiraiya's Icha Icha novel series. The novel's protagonist is named Naruto. The Naruto franchise's title character, Naruto Uzumaki, is named after the character because his father likes Jiraiya's book."
"The tale of a gutsy ninja" was Jiraiyas first book where Minato took the inspiration to name his son after the books protagonist.
The books of the Icha Icha series have nothing to do with Naruto's name, that are another (ero) ones which Jiraiya wrote later.

You wrote that the timeline has been updated to the Akatsuki Hiden novel, but it doesn't say in the spoiler section when it takes place...

Just look at the timeline picture, The Akatsuki novel takes place after the Gaara Novel.

Yeah, that's obvious. Just wanted to know for a theory I have when exactly it takes place...like months, or even years after Gaara Hiden.

I don't really mind more content based on the secondary and tertiary characters in the Naru-verse.

@Hameyadea: If their were more manga spin-offs, I would like to see the Hagoromo and the Ame Orphan back stories the most.
For Hagoromo, it would start from starting from when Kaguya first comes to the Earth to when Hagoromo dies.
For the Ame Orphans, it's from when they meet Jiraiya to when they join Obito & Black Zetsu.
When the manga does give some of their back story, I would've liked a manga spin-off for each to tell their respective stories in more detail.
For each spin-off to do a good telling of their back story, I think it would have to be at least 3 vol. for each spin-off.

Completely not surprised since the novels have been killing it in terms of sales in Japan. More worldbuilding is appreciated.

I think the only book I'd be interested in reading is the Akatsuki. The Akatsuki and its members are the few things I'm not that cynical about (Well, except for Nagato's sacrifice and Konan's lack of character).

Hell yes! Sasuke and Itachi novels! I'll grab both!
This will actually be Sasuke's second novel.

Yup! Thanks for pointing that out, it's been fixed in the article.
