Damn. I'd hate for them to be destroyed much like video games. I hope someone buys them.

Hmm, wonder how they'll go about destroying them. What would be a cheap and efficient method? Hope they provide details.

Unfortunately, it is true that since Anime Sols was organized as an LLP, any discs still in its possession would have to be considered a distribution to the partners and thus taxable to them once it dissolves. I don't think anybody wants to get stuck paying taxes on a bunch of copies of a few DVDs.

I wonder if somebody could make a deal to buy any remaining ones at a steep discount and continue to sell them through RightStuf (perhaps on consignment)? Or do sales have to be to customers rather than resellers? |

Yeah, they could liquidate the entire stock by offering sets for peanuts and not have to destroy most of it, but business doesn't work this way. Liquidation sales are hardly better than any other sale.

So...how would we help them even if we wanted to? Would buying a copy from Rightstuf count towards this?
EDIT: Nevermind.I see where the link is pointing even if it doesn't work. Last edited by Kruszer on Fri Jun 19, 2015 10:37 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Oh, man, it's utterly disheartening that Anime Sols has to any unsold DVD's of these anime classics have to be destroyed just so they don't end up being taxed despite no longer being active. Unfortunately, it seems that there's no other way around that...

I'd be more tempted to buy Black Jack if the price were lower. Paying $100+ for DVDs when con season is still here is more than I want to do right now. I'm not asking to buy it for peanuts, but $50 for both DVD sets is doable.
Oh well, at least I have the Creamy Mami and Dear Brother sets. Both solid series, IMO. Especially DB. |

Yeah I really wish I had the money. I would buy all the sets they have. I just don't, ugh....

I already own these sets, but wouldn't mind buying an extra set to have a back-up. Do you think they'll lower the prices toward the end of the month?

Eh, drop the prices in half and I'll consider it. If not, burn em all, no skin off my back.

Well, I just bought all of Creamy Mami and I already have the 2 Black Jack releases. Maybe if they're still around next week I'll pick up Dear Brother, but that's all I can do for now.
