I just stop watching after their last stun about anime fans. But, sadly mine friend told me about their lastest insult. It's was a couple of days ago when Adult Swin was talking about the seven wonders of the world but they said eight instead. And their eight was why they still show anime. It's they really felt that way then don't show the darn thing. I know most people on this board will say get over its. But these type of things always get to me for some reason. Is it just me but I feel like the caveman from the Geico commercials. Getting jerk around just for a company amusement.

Nice comparison. It is kind of an insult when somebody (myself) watches Adult Swim only for the anime (since all their other shows not named Futurama, Family Guy, or American Dad suck $4!T and I'm starting to not like those anymore. I mean, come on, 12 Oz. Mouse? I can make a better animated series than that! Saul of the Mole Men? More like, you need to be on some kind of hallucinogenic drug just to even think that show is even watchable! The only "non-anime" show on [as] that's actually pretty good is The Boondocks and it's not even made by Williams Street!) Ranting aside, I think they act like when the anime block comes on every night, their ratings go down. They probably do, but I don't know this for a fact. Anyway, it probably is just a harmless joke to be taken tongue-in-cheek.

Ah w/e let em say what they want. Its not like it really effects the actual watching of Anime. If it really bothers you, w/e dont wach adultswim. Most of their stuff sucks anyway. It will probably come around to bite em in the ass in the end. Better options for Anime are starting to emerge.
BTW, those geico comercial suck. The first one wasnt even funny and then they went and made a whole series of em. The caveman needs to get the f--- over it already. |

I can see where you are coming from and I to find it insulting a bit but it doesn't really bother me because I could always just turn the channel, but I can't because I want to watch anime. As a comic, animation, and video game fan all my life I am some what use to those kind of jokes towards people like me.

I think their "making fun" of anime funs is just that, all in good humor. Lighten up. Have a good joke at yourself once in a while. |

I think they're only joking for fun. And it's kinda true, why should they show anime when it gives them rather lousy rating on Saturday when they could show more highly rated shows, I don't really like any of the shows Adult Swim shows anyway except maybe Blood+.

Guys just lighten up I mean cmon its adult swim were talking about they joke about everything and plus the guy who made the first post needs to spell better (took me a while to read it), but anyway if you don't like adult swim then just go watch the anime they have on the scifi channel where its all edited and where theres only 2 shows a week. personally I like how adult swim is crazy and makes fun of everything, I haven't seen saul of the mole men because it just looks stupid but ATHF, Robot Chicken, Venture Bros, are some of the funniest shows I have ever seen. |

It can't just be a ploy to boost website traffic and I doubt the anime companies can easily afford to pay the TV companies to show their series. So is anime actually doing well on TV inspite of all the "no one watches but the fans scare us so we keep doing it" stuff? On a personal note, I really wish everyone would knock it off with the insult humor. Isn't it kind of grade-schoolish to make fun of people for chuckles? |

I'm sure the ratings don't match what family guy or futurama reruns get, however those have a much broader spectrum of appeal in the US. But on the same note, either it's popular enough to have costs covered and extra by advertisers or they simply don't have any other crappy williams street productions to stick in the time slot.
I must admit I don't watch AS at all except for on saturdays, so i am not sure if they still do the weekly ratings thing that they used to do. It was nice seeing that SciFi started a block up, although i'm not keen on the now started street fighter 2 and tokko is a little wierd and not particularly my style! But it's uplifting to see new channels try it out. |

I tell you, the amount of animetards bouncing around the internets flaming them to death over this might be the real reason behind the jabs. It's more fun to make fun of people when they get angry and touchy-feely about it really. Though I also don't watch AS much anymore as I don't really care for their new anime stuff. |

I don't want to sound like a broken record or anything, I mean I'd say pretty much the entire forum by now knows about my lack of any networks showing anime besides Cartoon Network, but as far as them dropping anime altogether, I really hope that never happens, for what I think is quite obvious to anyone by now: IT'S THE ONLY FREAKING CHANNEL THAT I CAN WATCH ANIME ON!!!!!!!!
I mean yeah sure, [AS] can be idiots to us anime fans sometime, but if we let that bother us, they'll just continue to do it over and over again. So the easy and obvious solution to that? Just don't take any offense. Just watch and enjoy the anime, be thankful that it's even on there in the first place, and forget about those idiots, otherwise you're giving in to exactly what they want. Ignore them and enjoy. Problem solved. Yes, I'm fully aware that others than myself actually do have all of these other anime channels, and yes, I'm fully aware that the whole world doesn't revolve around just me. But if you really think about it, Cartoon Network is the most mainstream network anyone is showing anime on right now, and even if the ratings are low, for a lot of people, me obviously included, that's our only option. So the next time you talk about anime being taken off of [AS], please take into consideration those poor souls like me who aren't as fortunate as the rest of you who actually do have these other options for anime you keep talking about, and please do not completely decimate our hopes and dreams. Thank you.

Yeah, I've never really taken offense to anything said on Adult Swim. As a matter of fact, I actually find it funny when they do stuff like that. IMO, they're just screwing around with everyone all the time, so there's no reason to get offended by it; they're just joking.

I actually love the way AS works I mean when they where showing all the anime marathons for a week all night, and I quote AS in what they say "so we just got the raitings from the marathons.......
no more marathons" imo that was just hilarious, even though I hope they werent serious in that  . and keep in mind guys its because of AS that teenagers and adults I mean before it was just Pokemon Digimon and DBZ did apeal to Teenagers and maybe even adults Its because of AS that people have started taking anime more seriously from showing shows like Cowboy Bebop or GTIS or other shows, I mean before most people just thought of anime as some wierd cartoon with hot animated girls or maybe hentai or w/e, but this is all just imo so yea just dont take it all that seriously.
