Eh, I got mixed thoughts on this with the 3D stuff...
Can't say I'm surprised since Ufotable is animating it though. Hmm, now that I watched it a few more times, I think I like it especially with the backgrounds. Hope this will be 2 cour.

We need a more light-hearted PV next.
God Eater overall is a pretty grim setting but it has light-hearted moments in spades.
Especially after Alisa's attitude tones way down.

I honestly hope that the actual anime will properly sync the voice actor/actresses line with the movement of the characters' lips. This unorthodox style of animation is quite interesting, but I am curious as to why they changed it from the first God Eater animation, considering how good it looked.

What 3D? Character animation looks to be all 2D to me. However they seem to be playing alot with their colouring and shading to make it look 3D ish.

For me, pausing it makes it difficult in certain shots to tell the difference, but it gives it away in the movement. Unless they are key-animating nearly every single frame, it looks too smooth and the characters too on-model to be 2D. It's far more likely that they are using 3D animation but touching it up to make it look more like 2D.

Well, I remember there being a news post saying that Ufotable is going for 2D animation with this, and that the weapons n stuff will be 2d and not 3d, so it may most certainly be the coloring and shading doing their part brilliantly to make it 'feel' like that

I'm also not sure about the animation, but I'll probably give it a try. Ufotable generally does good work and Hirao's direction in the fifth Kara no Kyoukai movie was amazing.

Not familiar with the game series so I don't know how well the animation compares, but it is indeed an interesting choice in animation style, but ufotable has proven to be a capable studio so I hope it will be tastefully done.

ufotable is a bit overrated in my book, but so far Aniplex's not involved so that's good. I have mixed feelings on the art and animation though. It does look like 3d to me as well. There's just something about the coloring that bothers me though. It looks like static promo art, conceptual art, or video game cover/game manual art. It looks good, but it looks really odd to see it in motion.

I like the way the character animation looks. I think it's interesting, and it looks good, too. It doesn't look very CG-ish, either, and even if it is CG, as I stated before, it looks good anyway.
