Good god, what is going on over at Konami? Looks like they are putting all their eggs in one metal-gear themed basket.

Next news: Activision Blizzard buys Konami. Seriously, some people (especially ones that very fond of Japan) gonna have a heart attack if it ever happens

I'd be pretty upset, considering how badly Activision has done in its own franchises. Still. A big Western developer may be what Konami needs at this point... if they're even attached to continue developing games, which may not be the case.

Im sure there are alot of behind-the-scene factors that are unknown to the public. But if its just on the games front, they arent really doing anything to create new IP/Franchise/Series. Relying on just Silent hill and Metal Gear is while good and well, it can cause potential problems.

Im sure people would buy to have the other MGS and Silent Hill games come to PC. And maybe another good DDR and ZoE game or something on PC too.

Anyways, curious on how things will turn out.

I was ready to throw stones at Konami for the Kojima and Silent Hills thing, but now I'll wait and see what happens, as there seems to be something going on behind the scenes.

Konami has nothing worthwhile left (that isn't collecting dust) except Yu-Gi-Oh.

Castlevania is dead, MGS is dead without Kojima, Parodius and Gradius are dead, Love Plus is dead, Tokimeki Memorial has been dead for years, Twinbee is MIA, the arcades are slowly declining in Japan so the arcades won't save them, they are also sitting on IPs galore especially from Hudson and not doing anything about them and are even worse than SE.

RIP Konami, it's sad to see a company that I have memories of on all gaming fronts (including the arcades and import gaming) go especially in such a rapid manner.

Get me out of this nightmare, the companies of many peoples' childhoods are dropping like flies from late last gen to this gen.

MGSV will be a nice send off. With each passing day, everything seems more grim for Konami.

And I guess I can say goodbye to any chance of a Snatcher/Policenauts remake or re-release.

I wish Konami's Enthusia had been a hit. It was a great initial effort in what could have been a top-tier racing franchise, on the more simulation side of "arcade racing sim", had the first one not come out in the shadow of Gran Turismo 4. Also, the very technical steering is intimidating with a high learning curve, which may have turned off a lot of casual racing fans. I can only imagine what Enthusia 2 might have been like, especially on generation 7 consoles (more licensed tracks, exotic car licenses like Ferrari and Lamborghini, damage modelling), but the game we got is still in my top 5 Playstation 2 racing games.

Another failed, mostly-forgotten Konami franchise I rather enjoyed was Rumble Roses, the female wrestling game. Okay, the wrestling gameplay was only so-so, but the character models were fantastic for PS2 and the cheesecake appeal was almost exactly on par with Dead or Alive (with many characters being obviously "inspired" by DOA girls, i.e. Dixie Clemets being an expy of Tina Armstrong).

Hopefully, Konami still manages to restructure or be bought out by a larger game company, although I highly doubt we'd ever get another Enthusia or Rumble Roses game even if Konami does survive.
