About time, I say.

With the series being so popular in Japan, IDK what took them so long.

This is seriously going to be the one franchise to keep an eye on next year. I am curious whether the kids in the West will bite this.

Agreed. With the massive popularity it & it's sequel are enjoying in Japan, I kept wondering why Nintendo was leaving money on the table by not releasing it abroad, but I imagine a big part of it was determining how to translate the concept of yokai (much less the names and things) to a foreign audience that's comprehensible on a child's level.

Still, at long last we'll finally get a chance to play it. I wonder if we'll see any footage at E3 or the next Nintendo Direct. I'd like to hope so.

darkchibi07: I guarantee you Nintendo is doing the same. If this manages to garner even half of Pokémon's popularity, they could make some major bank.

Quote:
Yo-kai Watch’s protagonist, Keita Amano, has a new name in the Western release of the franchise—Nathan Adams. The information was revealed by VIZ Media, who will publish the Yo-kai Watch manga in the West. Here’s their story summary:

Nathan Adams is just an average kid until the mysterious Whisper gives him a device that allows him to see what others cannot, Yo-kai of all shapes and forms! Now, armed with the Yo-kai Watch, Nathan, Whisper and their new invisible friends embark on an all new supernatural adventure!

Well with Nintendo publishing it, I guess it could probably sell well hopefully. Is there a way Nintendo can ask Level-5 to add Pikachu as a guest character for the US market?

I think Level-5 may have to see Game Freak about that, since that's the company where Pikachu came from.

I thought the Pokemon company (which Nintendo owned) owned Pikachu. So that mean Nintendo has the mean to add Pikachu in the western release of Yo-kai watch.

Can't complain too much. Give a little consideration to the rest of the world. At least they're prioritizing North America first.

"The game will debut in North America in 2016, and then roll out to other territories by the end of that year."

My money would be on the upcoming version that has been announced that has a "USA land" theme.

Yep, this definitely had to happen eventually.

Considering Nintendo themselves are publishing it I'd say they're expecting it to be a hit.

I hope so too. With Nintendo's name on there, it should be a hit. Now all it need is Pikachu to make an appearance as a guest character for the western version and it'll sell.
