The character designs and animation look pretty good, the synopsis also intrigues me. Looks to be a good addition to the summer lineup.

Another day yet another A-1 Pictures anime. Guess we get the next dozen or so this weekend and then maybe another dozen the week afger. The rest of the industry might as well just shut down and fold under the Aniplex banner at this rate cause it seems they have one show for every one any other studio has at this rate.

I recall comparisons being drawn to this when Outbreak Company was airing. Will probably check it out, though the staff and cast announced don't particularly interest me.

I'm so stoked after seeing actual footage and production images I've been waiting for this one for a long time now.
Outbreak Company is similar in premise but no actual real fighting breaks out with science vs weak magic and monsters etc. Plus that one was a comedy through and through. Gate has it's funny moments but it's mostly action based with politics thrown in as well. Can't wait for summer now. |

Yes, I'm not said that A-1 Black Butler isn't dark... But the staff of Gate really amused me with the director, whose first (except the episode direction) and main work was the most popular in Japan for now idol slice show, with the composer and sound director from the same show, and with the studio who may screw potentially everything. The only thing that enlightened me was the Urahata on the script writing, but I seriously don't know what to expect. |

Since the moment I got my eyes on the manga of this series a couple of years ago I dreamed of it getting animated. God I hope they dont mess it up.

A-1? Well that killed some of the enthusiasm I had for this series. Then again, Genco is producing it, and they don't really do Aniplex stuff so I might check it out. The art isn't half bad, though I was expecting it to be a little darker and less colorful, seeing as it's a military work.
