Okay, seriously, there has to be an English-Language version in the works. They're putting too much work into these songs to not try for a Broadway run.

▲ I know, right!? But there's no telling if these are actually creating any kind of a buzz in the English-speaking Broadway world. But I hope so. If nothing else, it seems they might have a full English OST by the end of this.

Playbill and Broadway World have been reporting on this in snippets here and there, so there has to be some kind of buzz to bring it to the states.

While it's not impossible, I don't think these English songs are any indicator of an English play run. The production tapped an English-speaking composer. He's going to write and compose the songs in English before handing them over to the Japanese staff.

That's exactly what I was about to say.
I never watched the anime or read the manga, because Death Note just never appealed to me, but if this IS brought over, I'd consider seeing it if I ever went to New York and it was on Broadway. The songs are just that good.

Man I wouldn't mind seeing one of their stage plays. This could be a lot of fun.

That is disappoint.
But I think the composer really captures the spirit of the musical in his songs.
My uncle and I listened to it in the car and he asked me what soundtrack it was.... (I added it to my playlist because I was deeply impressed). And I was excited about it, but sad because I told him that there wasn't a soundtrack.
Oh well... :c

Jeremy Jordan is really talented. He was in Newsies and Bonnie & Clyde.
This might not have a Broadway run any time soon, but it could always have a trial run or workshop in smaller US markets. These songs sound freaking amazing! It would be a shame for there NOT to be an American run.
Actually Frank Wildhorn also composed the songs for Bonnie & Clyde. That musical did have a Japanese run, so maybe there's hope for an American run for Death Note.

Ok I need another Death Note fan to share my excitement here. I literally teared up at the last song. This is so BEAUTIFUL! Death Note has been my favorite manga for almost 10 years now. I even went to Comic Con to meet Obata-sensei. How frikkin rare is it for faithful English songs to be made for someone's favorite manga? Anyway I would sit front row if this came to America but even if it doesn't just these songs being out there is enough for me. I hope they release a soundtrack!

NOOOOOO the songs have been replaced!!!
A youtube video of a dress rehearsal with the English songs now being played in Japanese
Before it went down, there was a new song by Soichiro Yagami proclaiming his son innocent- noooooooooooo
Did anyone save those songs? I can't find them anywhere; they were so amazing! Not just from a Deathnote fan, but from a Broadway view.
This bites
