Definitely sounds interesting! I really liked Space Dandy, so this might be something worth investing in!

Wow, just what we need another anime based deck building game!
Did we learn nothing from Ani-Mayhem?

Dandy's a good property, well handled - which Ani-Mayhem looks like it wasn't - this should succeed.
Anyway it will be worth watching this one closely.

I want this for the sake of owning it, but I know very well that I would never play it. ARGH! Do I back it or not?

I did not know this until Anime Central last year (and buying my first Tanto Cuore box), but deck-building games are quite different from collectible card games (of which Ani-Mayhem is one). Deck building games supply all the cards in the box, typically starting all players with the same cards, and are therefore very much focused on the gameplay. CCGs are all about collecting additional cards beyond the starter pack and customizing a deck to the player's liking.

Good luck if this kickstarter become successful for them. I'm kinda surprised Funimation is not involved in this one.

Funimation is involved, as the article says. Not sure to what capacity.

Whoops I must be reading the article too fast (aka skimming) to notice this part:

I love deck building games, and their recent popularity has me surprised that some people still don't understand what they are. Anyway, totally grabbing this.

Huh, I was not expecting Space Dandy to be the first property in this initiative (to be honest I was expecting Railgun since I was under the assumption they'd be working with the properties that they have first). Hopefully this goes well for them.

Are TCGs really making a comeback?

Deck building games are not TCGs. They are more like board games; you only need one copy for everyone to play, and it comes with all the components you need.

I wonder what Ian Sinclair thinks of this.
