so its about $70 for four episodes.
Not much of a collectors edition in terms of content, no more fancy that NIS's old "Limited edition" releases. Except NIS charged rought $50-60 for 12-13 episodes while this is going $70 for 4. Im just curious if Denki-Gai has enough people willing to buy this. As far as I know, this doesnt have the same popularity as something like Nisekoi. But I could be wrong |

They want $70 for what looks like an Aniplex/NIS America standard release?
Ponycan must have been smoking some good stuff when discussing the price. |

Maybe Ponycan, but I can't. I liked Denki-Gai and would love to own a physical copy but not a chance at these prices. Maybe there will be a cheaper version down the road.

When I first saw this I was about to say "not too bad"...and then I saw the episode count and cringed. Yep, less anime purchases for me. Keep it up and you guys are going to drive me back to the days where I only made a handful of purchases per year.
Do they mean something actually solid or is it more like my Durarara! DVDs that came with that very thin plastic slip? If it was solid it would be interesting, but if its thin like my DRRR! set then I'm underwhelmed, plus the DRRR! had more interesting packaging visually (the postcards sucked though).
Is this a fancy way of saying postcards? So I guess it will end up being $215.94 to get the whole show or thereabouts? Maybe, if it was a 24 episode show with a dub or at least more interesting packaging and I regarded it higher then mayyy..be. But not for what it is now. What will they charge if its a big hit show? <sigh> I will say that I commend their inclusion of Spanish subtitles. |

Another high-end marketer, I see? The price they want for this release is quite pricey, more so than if I got a volume of Nisekoi or Kill la Kill from Aniplex. Unless Ponycan comes out with a regular edition of this series down the line without all the bonus material, I'm gonna pass on this.

Release looks like NISA, but pricing is like Aniplex. Count me out, at least for this series. I mean, 4 subbed eps? And for a series I don't really know anything about? Oh well, I'm tossing it on the Aniplex pile of "maybe someday....maybe"

My response:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n5E7feJHw0 I knew they'd be pricey, but I didn't expect them to actually charge MORE than AoA. I'd be raging right now if only I wasn't laughing so hard. If this is how they plan to run their business, I don't think we should worry too much about Ponycan. Unless they score themselves a HUUUUUUUUGE hit like AoA did with Madoka and SAO, I don't think they're going to be in business very long. |

Maybe I've been looking in the wrong places, but I haven't seen ONE comment anywhere online of anyone trying to defend this and attacking the people that say this is too pricey. Aniplex even has plenty of those. Not lookin good for Ponycan so far

So, this is basically a Japanese, limited edition single with twice the number of episodes. I am not that bothered by the price because it at least comes with a BD version.
I have no idea if Ponycan USA is going to succeed, but very expensive singles is a terrible way to introduce themselves to the NA market. $100 for the whole series with all the fancy packaging would have been a smarter strategy. |

Same here. Even the people who aren't usually turned off by high prices are saying no to this one, as it just simply isn't good enough of a show to merit the costs. Like I said, unless Ponycan scores a huge blockbuster title, this method of business simply isn't going to work out for them. Denkigai is already looking like a failure before it even gets released, and while Yuki Yuna will more than likely sell a few copies, it's not going to reach anywhere NEAR the numbers that Madoka pulled in. Whoever runs Ponycan really needs to sit back and think things through right about now. |

Since this is only being sold first hand through Rightstuf, the "SRP" comes off even more of a threat than the AoA titles; "We could be charging 89 a set but we'll be generous and sell it for 71. And look! We're doubling our episode content!"
Hey, saving that much, I could pick up a Funimation SAVE set. Better yet, I'll just buy the SAVE set. And it doesn't even matter which one 'cause a random blind buy's a better deal than this. I still want to know how many they expect to sell {ie "initial print run"} because it's a "collector's edition" but not a "limited edition". |

I'm not quite sure where people are getting "more expensive than AoA" from this?
For SRP of $90, you get 4 episodes on BD and DVD, a CD, a special case and slipcover, a 24-page book, 2 special illustrated pin-ups, a double-sided poster, and a double-sided cover. To compare it, Madoka LE 1 was SRP of $95, 4 episodes on BD and DVD, a CD, a special box, a 24-page book, postcards and a sticker, a double-sided poster, and a short manga. That looks pretty equivalent to me. |

As far as I can tell from this, Pony Canyon is only selling through Right Stuf!. Aniplex is only selling through their online store and Right STuf!. NISA does the above and ads a few select online retailers.
None of these that I know of is selling anything at full SRP. If no one who has the right to sell the shows on the primary market charges full SRP why do they even bother to set one?? To me, it seems as though setting a higher SRP is completely pointless. I was going to say fraudulent, but no one is actually claiming that it is selling at SRP except possibly on the secondary market. |

And people thought Aniplex was bad. This is actually f*cking laughable. Good job Pony Canyon.
