I actually saw a recording of Vic (I believe it was this series) on YT a few months ago.

Judging from the English voice cast, I would say Funimation will be the one getting this anime.

Ryo Horikawa -> Christopher R. Sabat
Mamoru Miyano -> Vic Mignogna
I can see how they casted this.

I agree. This is a sort of a mix of simulcast publ/dub.

Well, we'll wait and see if ANN to confirm if Funimation got the North American licensing right for Rainy Cocoa. But as I said, judging from the English cast, I say it's highly likely Funimation got the right.

The company behind these manga/cellphone apps project is a Japanese voice talent agency (the one that represents the voice actor for Vegeta), so that's likely where the Funimation connection started.
I have no idea who is fronting the money for an anime adaptation though...

Excuse me,but I've got a question for everyone. What is "Rainy Cocoa" about? Does it take place on a parallel earth where it rains chocolate for an unexplained reason? I hope someone will give me some information on this.

Uh, Snomaster the story is described on the article. Didn't you even read the article, it's on the bottom of the article.

Sorry,mdo7. I'm not as familiar with e-manga as I am with regular old printed manga. Besides,I've never heard of this before so I have no idea about the plot or anything about it.

Well, looks like you didn't read the article. Word of advice: read the article first before making a comment.

This part of the source caught my attention:
Quote: | The creators describe Rainy Cocoa as one of the world's first digital manga which allows readers to toggle between Japanese and English text and audio. |
I wonder if more works in the future will have this format.

You don't have to be familiar with web manga, you just need to read the article before commenting. Easy as that.

I wonder why they specifically chose the Funi talent pool.

As I said, I think Funimation may have gotten a license, that or this particular anime could be a co-production between Japan and Funimation, that's another theory.

Got the impression from the summary that this is a BL romcom in the vein of Antique Bakery. Its watchability will depend on its writing and its comedy to drama ratio.
