I recently finished chobits vol4 and I noticed that the story that hideki's old manager/or boss told about him and his persocom was very deep when he got married to his persocom then his persocom lost memory every day and then saved him from a car crash only to have herself shredded.
I was on the verge of crying .
What are your opinions on what happened?

I was crying if that tells you anything. Chobits is good in getting people to think, if the people want to. Personally, I would find it wrong to have a robot as your partner, but if you've already fallen in love with it, you just can't help it. >.> So I guess I wouldn't hold it against a person for falling in love with a robot. It was so sad.

Yes that sequence was quite emotional and beautifully done. it was either a masterpiece or really bad tough. the visual really was done perfectly. The thing I was unsure of was if Mr. Ueda's voice was that of a bad actor or a baker who cried so much he was too empty to feel any more emotion. superb.

Your second assessment is quite right, hellomojo. Ueda, at that point, was more or less a shell of who he was. He does smile a lot, but its very much the same pained smile that we saw Spike Spiegal wear throughout Cowboy Bebop. When we see the broadcast where Ueda is being mobbed by the press, who are at that time hounding him about marrying a persocom as if it were some bizarre fetish, we learn that his wife's name was Yumi and that he wouldn't ever love anyone as much as her. This, of course, shattered Yumi (the Yumi that Hideki works with) who had strong feelings for Ueda and thus birthed he persocom inferiority complex
So, yeah, for being a light-hearted "harem/romantic-comedy" series, Chobits really tugs at one's heartstrings.

Spike has the same smile as ueda?
I didn't know that what do both of their smiles look like?

Emotional content is what matters here.
