I know Comic-Con would be severely crowded, but to meet Tanemure in person would be a dream. I'll suffer just for her!

ooo, a new short story? I hope that's it and not one of the ones from the tankoban I have. Will it make it into a Gentleman's Alliance volume as an extra you think?

Only if it was originally in the Japanese tankoban. If it was never published in any book in Japan and only ran in a magazine, it will probably only be in Shojo Beat unless there is someday a collection in Japan that contains which Viz could then license and distribute.

Well, she did talk about her trip to Germany in the tankoban, so maybe they'll do it this time, too.

I would also like to meet her. I have really enjoyed everything of hers that I have read so far. I wish that someone would license and put out Time Stranger Kyoko. It has one that I have been patiently waiting for, and I'm sad everytime a company announces new titles and it isn't one of them. I guess perhaps it's too old or too short. I keep hoping though.

Solution: Learn a European language. TSK is available in so many languages on this side of the pond. Ok, so there is a scanlation but the quality is horrendous.
Arina Tanemura has actually been to Europe a few times. I remember she attended one of the two big German bookfairs (in turn some of the biggest in the world), which caused some bemusement among the usual crowd when somebody they had never heard of effectively became the star attraction by pulling in over a thousand fans. She is a really big name among manga fans in Europe, though I'm not quite sure of the same in the USA.

My teen wants to trade this manga-ka for Maki Murakami going to Otakon, but I don't think they'll listen to her. All her friends are jealous, but this in one of the manga-ka's my teen & I aren't into. Although I go to the Viz panels anyway, so I'm sure it'll be interesting, I always hope for someone I like & have lucked out so far, so we'll live with it this year.
