Granted, it is (apparently, anyway) a manga and A.N.N. is -- so I gather -- very much behind the curve when it comes to staying on top of Manga entries for the encyclopedia. But even so, I am very much surprised that that a manga that is being advertised in a banner advertisement here on the site does not have its own encyclopedia entry. Does anyone know when "Tonari no Kashiwagi-san" will get its own encyclopedia entry?

Done.
Normally I wouldn't respond to such question, as a manga without anime adaptation or NA license is not high on the priority list. However, I'm interested in what you said: "in a banner advertisement"? I haven't seen such ad and am curious about it. Could you take a screenshot? Or you were talking about the House of 1000 Manga article? |

When I see it again, I'll make a screenshot of it. According to the advertisement, it's being offered in iTunes ("Manga 2.5"?).

Exactly that House of 1000 Manga article was about. |

Now I'm confused; wouldn't this have a North American license? |

So am I. It's a tough question; correct me if I were wrong (Jason?), but according to the website of Manga2.5, the digitizing and distributing works are done in Japan by the Digital Publishing Division of Happinet. We sure can give it the task of "Online Distribution" like we did for JManga, but I'm not sure 1) whether the company be credited to "Happinet" or "Manga2.5" 2) under Japanese or English? OT: Let's see what they've got in their catalog... Nekoe Jubei Otogisoshi?! That's a big surprise. But, uh, the casts and roles are reversed. I'm willing to pay the digital manga due to the local licensee has butchered it at volume 4. |

I'm reminded of the Anime World iTunes apps for Dennou Coil etc.
We always go by language rather than country so if it is translated then it would go under English. It's no different to Anime Sols and Daisuki which are both Japanese companies that stream in English. The situation as the the website/company name reminds me of this thread: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1145869#1145869 --edit-- Just realised that I came across these things before. |

That's because everything in "English" (US, UK, CA, AU, NZ, IN, SG, etc.) has not been separated by locale, something long overdue. |
