Nice to see that I'm not the only one Razz
Tho my tattoo is a bit different, it's a star shape at the back shoulder near the neck like all Joestar family have from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, my favorite franchise.

I don't plan to do any more otaku-related tattoo but it's nice to see here and there more people showing love to their hobby like that.

I remember a guy came into the store I used to work in with the whole Naruto cast tattooed up both arms... I wish I had taken a picture as this would be the perfect opportunity to share it.

Suffice to say, they won't be allowed in any onsen hot springs! Laughing
(Japanese onsen typically don't allow in people with visible tattoos; tattoos are culturally associated with yakuza and may scare other patrons.)

One of the more famous anime tattoo was singer Matthew Sweet's Lum of "I've Been Waiting" and "Girlfriend" fame:

Um, not to be rude but although I do love the show, that last tattoo doesn't seem to look like YuruYuri Confused

True, for Japanese. They're more likely to make exceptions for obvious gaijin, although even then they may forbid you from going in. When I was in Japan, one of the hotels we stayed in had a public bath, and when I went in at night, I had to have my tattoos taped up, but when I went in the morning, they just let me go in without taping them up. Really depends on how many guests are in the bath I suppose.

My tattoos are somewhat otaku related, in that they're True Runes from the Suikoden series, namely the Beast Rune and the Blue Moon Rune.

I've decided that once I'm past thirty (I'm leaving it till then as I would like to see if I can afford to go to Japan first among other things) I would like to get a tattoo of Luna and Artemis from Sailor Moon on my back somewhere. It's not that far off as I'm 28 now.

I don't really get the desire for tattoos in general, but getting one based on a (relatively obscure) pop culture reference just seems like a recipe for trouble. What guarantee do you have that you'll care about Random Anime X nearly as much as you do now when ten years have gone by? And that's not even touching on the potential social difficulties if you get it somewhere highly visible. Razz

I don't mind tattoos (below the neck area), but they aren't my thing. Gun to my head though, I would definitely choose to get an anime tattoo. Something like Sailor Jupiter's logo on my chest. I definitely wouldn't get a face or body, though, since I can't imagine that looking good down the road. Growing up I thought it'd be really cool to get the King of Hearts crest like Domon.

Ayano and Himawari are fairly easily recognizable, but the other two characters maybe not so much (But I'm guessing Sakurako and Chitose).

I get tired of looking at the same picture on a calendar for a whole month. I can't imagine having a picture attached to me that I couldn't change.
