Could it be that the anime show is entering another arc?
It seems that there may be a large batch of Fairy Tail episodes in the works if that's the case.

but they didn't even finish the tournament arc(i don;t know what they call) yet in anime

Well they better get rid of the unnecessary fanservice and stop having every arc repeat itself if they wanna sell.

fudge no, fanservice is very important. Fairy Tail actually needs more fanservice in the anime.

To date, there have actually been five/six Fairy Tail OVAs (depending on if you count the Rave crossover one).

Then how come it is going down the toilet? Losing fans? What happened to the start of this series that we like so much? The fun fights? The characters that weren't there just for background fanservice? The no hinted romance? Can this series no longer function without the fanservice? Has the creator lost his creativity with his stories or what?

Well there's at least fanservice, good comedy and enjoyable characters when everything else fails... Series like Naruto have completely nothing left with its plot turning into shit. My opinion.
And I don't get why you guys keep saying that the new anime should get rid of fanservice, if it's to faithfully adapt the manga, then there must be more of it 
Though I do agree that less censorship in terms of blood would be awesome, since manga can get quite bloody and the old anime... didn't.
