I've seen a couple episodes of this series. I thought it was pretty good, but not good enough to avoid it being put on the very, very back burner when I comes to my anime viewing. I never thought it would be licensed, but then again I didn't realize it was directed by Jun Kawagoe until now. It's a nice and short series, so perhaps I should go back and finish it. I still have all 12 episodes.

I saw a few episodes later early on, and it kind of fell off the map for me when I got busy. It will be interesting to see this on DVD when I actually have some time to enjoy it.

The series has a good-number of heart-pounding, nicely animated action sequences, and the plot progression and execution is pretty linear including a rather satisfying ending. But overall, I found it just sort of there. Neutral

Odd thing is that once I start watching an episode, I seemed to be wanting to continue it despite the fact I knew the whole thing is pretty meh. Anime dazed

Did they license it, or are they distributing it, like Geneon's doing for Rune?

I only saw a few of the episodes but Innocent Venus had a lot of potential but I think it was weakly directed. Does the series get better towards the end? If so I'd be willing to check the dvd out.

The things that get licensed never cease to amaze me. There must be a lot of behind the scenes reasons for some of these shows. Innocent Venus pretty much defines mediocrity
IMHO, so this is a surprise for me. I guess ADV knows their target market better than I do. Confused

And when is Ouran getting licensed? Sad

I didn't think Innocent Venus was that bad, I watched the entire thing from beginning to end. It had a nice twist near the end and the ending itself wasnt too bad. Its a little slow, but its good.

Im surprised though, I didn't think it would get liscenced.

I wasn't expecting this one at all. I enjoyed Innocent Venus when I watched it but I never expected it to be licensed. I don't know if this will be pre-order material but I'll be picking up the DVDs eventually.

In my opinion the beginning of Innocent Venus was pretty run-of-the-mill. The middle was where it got very good, but I thought it suffered from a very bad ending. Some of the characters (Jin in particular) did not live up to their potential. I think given another 12 episodes to flesh out a broader story and expand on the characters it would have been a great series. The action was pretty well done throughout however. It is good that it is coming over here so it can get more exposure, but I'll pass on this one.

I'm soso with adv dubs, but this is still awesome news. I love innocent venus and didn't think it would get picked up. my experience was that it started out generic, but got really good once you got a few episodes in.
