Looks surprisingly good. My guess would be it got cancelled for the live-action movie, but even then that's pretty far back.

I imagine it had more to do with the fact that none of Imagi's films were particularly successful, which led to them having money issues.

This.

Real shame, too. Pretty much everything that was shown of this movie looked good.

Yeah. If anything, this film might have brought their fortunes back around.

It's a waste. Tatsunoko should've paid out of its own pocket for the rest of the film.

Really? I kind of doubt that. If Astro Boy and TMNT could'nt, no way an even more obscure series is going to.

I enjoyed the TMNT movie, while Astro Boy could of been better if it had not only a better story but also include some elements that made the original Astro Boy a real delight to watch.

It be cool to see animation sequences for Imagi's other defunct film Tetsujin 28: animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-01-09/imagi-launches-tetsujin-28-site-with-cg-test-teaser

If they did a trailer for it a few years ago, that tells me that they must of at least done a story board sequence to the movie before production went to a halt and the film never saw the light of day again.

There were times when I wish they had used the classic theme song somewhere in the film (preferably at the end during the credits but it never happened).

As in for the Astro Boy film?, if so then same here. I also wish it contain some of the other secondary characters from original series. Cause I would of enjoyed seeing them more than the newer characters that were introduced.
