I'm not very fond of the art style. But I don't judge media like that, so I'll give it an honest try.

These are just breathtaking... they're like little paintings! I'm longing to see the third still in motion. Takahata, you genius you!!!
By the way for some reason one of the images is showing up as a piece of promo art for Sasameki Koto...haha

Oh, Takahata, it has been far, far too long! Welcome back! Can't wait to see this one; the full trailer being shown in Japanese theaters is even better.

well, it looks like it'll be visually interesting. Also it's nice to see Takahata back.

I'm actually concerned that they're still releasing only images at this point. We know how slow Takahata is, so it makes one speculate that the film is further behind than we think. How much actual footage of the film have we seen thus far? Maybe a few seconds? You'd think they'd have a couple of trailers out by now. November isn't that far away.

Looks like it'll be a slow film in narrative progression, thank god for 1.5x speed. Art seems digestible.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! BEAUTIFUL! MAGNIFICENT! I hope Takahata is fully back and we get more Takahata masterpieces, even more with Miyazaki retiring, or so he says.

There is a full trailer playing in theaters with "Kaze Tachinu" right now; it just hasn't been released online for whatever reason. That image of her running under the moonlight is spectacular in motion.

dan: That might be Takahata's last film, too. He is older than Miyazaki, after all.

The little bits we get to see in the trailer and stills look promising and truly beautiful to me. Really looking forward to this.

I just finished watching Hols Prince of the Sun, the fact the director is STILL out there creating art amazes and inspires me. His insistence on unconventional styles and expressive animation is also much appreciated.

The stills alone give me goosebumps.
