I'm really liking the animation and art direction.
Bring it on, Umetsu and A-1
Also, Samurai Flamenco is probably going to have a shitty schedule..

With Umetsu onboard, the action scenes are guarantee to look pretty amazing. Though I'm a little worried there are 4 scriptwriters on the staff. I just hope this series doesn't fall prey to "too many cooks spoiling the broth."

There are commonly many writers on a show, each doing different episodes, with one lead writer in charge.

The character designs don't look like something Yasuomi Umetsu would do, but the content seems as though it just might be. Details are still sketchy and the Gallileo hook feels a little odd too me, but it looks cool and the director has a knack cool as well as the kind of stories this seems to be shooting for.
The director also has a knack for incorporating pornography into his crazy action stories, but that probably wasn't necessary this time. Although hey, for old time's sake...
I've noticed that the three leads seem to have combinations of character traits that contradict our expectations. The quiet one who's good at science is decisive and quick to act, the one who's physically adept is a timid worrywort and the sharp-tongued wild woman is the maternal type. That could be an interesting hook that could make them genuinely, interestingly atypical characters, but I could also imagine it just making their characterizations seem incoherent and erratic.
I also appreciate that their mother is 43 years old. She doesn't look particularly middle-aged, but anime can be so obsessed with youth that it sometimes seems reluctant to acknowledge that ages that ages of thirty or older exist.
