I dont know if consumers are pleased with this franchise at all. I'm reading it and suprisingly, I find it really amusing.
The manga has an anime, I hope that the anime TV series gets released here in NA as well. Although I suggest that you read the manga first, the anime version of this series is inferior compared to its manga. The animation's really cheap, but if you're a "wallflower fan" you'll definitely enjoy watching the characters come to life. The manga goes into more detail though[storywise].
What I want to know is, Does anyone actually like this series. If you've seen ANN's Review for this manga, you'll see that most of the comments are negative. They're TRUE though. At times Hayakawa IS lazy, but the story is pretty good, it's funny as well, it just takes awhile for the story proceed, the characters always seem to slack off doing irrelevant things .Eventhough this book is average. If anyone actually likes it, or dislikes it, I'd appreciate your comments and opinions on this. Please state your reasons for liking it or disliking it. Thanks In advance for those who'll reply.
EDIT**[So sorry for all the spelling and grammar mistakes, I finally fixed it ]

I enjoy this series very much. It was one that I passed in Borders many times before I actually decided to pick it up. I think it's humor is what makes it gold. I love Sunako! She is a wonderful breath of fresh air for the role of a "heroine". The four boys are great too. My only complaint on this series is that I have to wait as long as I do for the next volume to come out. hahahahaha

That's a shame, because I feel that the story does evolve, however I will admit that it does do it very slowly. I think thet fact that the characters are slow to change and kind of go over the same things, make them seem more life like to me. I mean, how many people evolve and change at the speed of Manga? hahahaha I have been keeping up with the story, and I feel some bigger changes are going start to take place. Volume 10 was an example of that IMO. I don't want to spoil anything, but Sunanko is starting to change internally. I'll leave it at that.

I've only read the first three volumes, and I find it entertaining. The art is lazy, but it's interesting. The story reminds me of the old movie, "My fair Lady" but has a different twist. I wouldn't say it's the best manga out there, but one of my favourites.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Yes I agree with what most of you guys said, the humor IS awesome, and the story does advance, but it takes a while, that's why I understand that some people have give up on the manga after volumes 5,6 or 7. About volume 10 sadly , I have yet to read it. I don't know why Barnes and Nobles here in queens[NYC] don't have it yet.[or maybe its sold out nooooo] As for me,I'm going to continue on reading this franchise. Thanks to everyone who replied
EDIT**fixed grammatical errors[spelling as well].BTW,I've read vol 10.

Sunako is one of the most awesome manga heroines ever, at least in my opinion. It's refreshing to read a manga that doesn't rely on any sort of magical power or mecha to make it interesting. The way the characters interact with each other makes a smile break out on my face.

I see that many people are the artwork in this title lazy. I'll be the first to admit that I am not really a manga expert, although a not a novice either. To me, I think the author puts effort into what she wants you to notice. The backgrounds are not as detailed because she wants your focus on the characters and storyline. Sunako is super deformed most of the time because the way she sees herself is not her true self, and I think the author uses this to keep that point. When the real Sunako comes out, she is beautiful and detailed. I don't know. I like the artwork in this title. It's different and therefore grabs my attention more.

I love the manga, though that isn't to say that I automatically picked it up after it was released in north america. The first thing to ward me off was the bishounen artwork but I sat down one day and forced myself to read it. I'm glad I did, I found the manga entertaining once I got passed the blindingly beautiful creatures of light lol. Still its a good manga though how it stretches to 28 volumes or so I read on the encyclopedia I don't know. Looking forward to the later volumes.

It's 28 volumes long! That's insane! The pacing of the manga is pretty slow so I can see it stretching out.

I'm enjoying The Wallflower very much. It's amusing, and I can overlook a lot if something is entertaining. However, I caution against watching the anime. I wasted a lot of time dling it, watched almost all of one episode, and just deleted the entire series. Keep in mind I stuck it out through ALL of Meine Liebe, even though I wanted all the characters to die by the time episode four was over. So, yeah, it's much worse than that.

Where did you find out that it was 28 volumes? Everything I have read on this series states that there are only 17 volumes, although it is still on going. I wish that they would put them out faster because I am sick of waiting until March for volume 11, so I can only imagine how long its going to feel to get the entire series.
