Announcing the downtime? Very impressive, usually they'd just happen spontaniously, and we'd be left in the dark. Good on ya.

No kidding. I work with multiple enterprise systems that receive millions of dollars in annual maintenance fees and they still go down without warning from time to time. Then the software folks and hardware folks jump into action arguing about who busted their SLA while the client wonders why nobody is trying to fix anything. At least we got a warning this time. Be happy.

I hope you aren't installing FAMIS. That's a broken piece of fubar if there ever was one! It keeps choking the servers here at my work often. The IT guy over on this side loses whole weekends!
Good Luck!

Well, even leaving the American "loser" out of the equation there are still several folks from Asia that might login around then, including myself just a couple months ago. ANN might be small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but I've visited forums where the posting frequency rarely drops substantially, even during the middle of the American night. At work we only have about an hour of downtime between the end of the North American shift and the start of the Asian shift. It's a busy little world these days.

Seconded. More than once, I'm in need of particular information from an on-line source, only to find a server error message instead. Always nice to save yourself any potential aggrevation.

So that means 11 o'clock California time. I guess I should decide which series I'm going to watch tonight then, could use a break from ANN once in a while

Actually it would be 10:00 pm your time in the pacific time zone. You only have 30 minutes left so I hope you found what to watch.
I'm taking a surprising day off from work today, and just saw the forum will be down for a while. So I'm making some Yakitate avatars for this month to pass the time. And having fun re-watching some of the episodes.

You apparently also erroneously believed that all news was solely of interest to American readers.
