Hello!

I'm new so I might jump in a big puddle right now by asking something already asked 1000 times or which is mentioned somewhere else (but for the love of god I couldn't find anything on the search engine but that might be because I'm too dumb or something)

Are there any news on the Burst Angel OVA and is there any plan about a sequel series (given some vague indication in the series)?

Reason for my curiosity that I stumbled over this site:
http://www.baku-ten.net/

With some announcement for March 2007 and some title called "Infinity", however the last DVD released was Guardian angel and none of the other being called Infinity I kinda have my hopes high but without any Japanese language skills it could be a cosplay tournament for all I know.

Reason I ask is because the last news on the encyclopaedia about the project is 1 and a half years old so I'm wondering if it is being worked on or has been scrapped.

Any pointers appreciated

2. Battle records of 24 episodes of BakuTen (basically a recap)
3. 赤ク爆ス天ノ月 (I'm not sure if I can transliterate it into romaji correctly...) directed by Ugetsu Hakua.

Booklet with 60 pages
Box illustrated by Ugetsu Hakua
Picture labels (not sure if those are stickers or whatnot)

Is this for North America or for Japan?

If it is for North America, is Funimation releasing it?

If it is for Japan, what are the chances of it being licensed by Funi? I thought they did a great job with Burst Angel and it just feels wrong not to have everything for a series done by the same people.

Either way, it's nice to hear that something is going to happen with the OVA stuff. I've been wondering what was going on for a while.

The Funi site used to show that there was going to be an OVA release (but the link is broken now). It never said what the OVA was going to be about or even when it was going to be released. I can only surmise that something has changed.
Hopefully one of the Funi Reps will be able to fill us in regarding the OVA.

Well, it's good to see that the project is up and running again. I guess they wanted to keep things under wraps for awhile. It seemed like it was almost never going to get done.

More than likely 'FUNi' has this on their list. But there is one problem, will the OVA be able to fit into the box now?

Considering that when they released the TV series the box was supposed to hold the 6 vols. and then the OVA.

I wonder if this OVA is going to complete where we left off or are they planning on doing more.

But I'm glad things are on the move again. As I haven't picked up the series yet and plan to at some point. Wink

I have the box and only the six series discs fit in it. The insert has a "Coming Soon" blurb about an OVA Special. I can now assume that, given the date mentioned is from the Japanese Baku-ten site, that it will be some time before a release from FUNI. At least we have some timeline clue.

The FUNimation Burst Angel site is now flash-based so there won't be any URL except the root. It has "OVA - Coming Soon" under "DVD" tag. Therefore it's pretty sure that FUNi will release it; the question is when.

What bugs me is what its new subtitle will be. When it was announced almost two years ago (just two days behind Japanese announcement -- that was fast), the subtitle was Tenshi Sairin (天使再臨, "Returning Angels"), but since 2006-12-11 the OVA subtitle has been referred as "Infinity". I've searched around but

1) can't find the date of name change; Tenshi Sairin simply vanished without a trace
2) unable to verify whether Infinity is just Tenshi Sairin with a name change, or the former is a new project after the latter has been scrapped. Anyone has any idea what's going on?
