The movie Grave of the Fireflies has a boy taking care of his little sister during WWII.

That's a thoroughly off-base reply, and I'm half convinced that it's a deliberate troll. Grave of the Fireflies could hardly be more different from Aishiteruze Baby. True, there is a boy taking care of his sister, but that's where all resemblance stops. What I would suggest is Binbou Shimai Monogatari, a story wherein a pair of sisters try to eke out a poor living without their parents. It's light and generally cheerful, like Aishiteruze Baby, and unlike Grave of the Fireflies. You could also try Chokotto Sister, though the theme there is somewhat different (and more ecchi). - abunai |

Although not really what you are describing since it doesn't involve a boy taking care of a child, but it does fit the profile of a sweet comedy involving characters in awkward parenting situations. The anime is called Mama is a 4th Grader, which is about a girl who must take care of her mother who has travelled back in time (and is also 15 years younger).

I gave the link so they can figure out for themselves whether it would be something they were interested in. I don't know the show they were referring to, so I gave a suggestion based on the only other piece of information they supplied. I certainly wasn't trolling. I certainly wouldn't ever troll. Since recommendation threads aren't supposed to be made anyway, I was being nicer than I probably should have been. This is especially true given the one thing I do the most here is search for old discussion threads which is a pain due to the extreme number of recommendation threads you have to sort through. |

Hello.
Here's a link that will help you find anime to watch: Looking for a new anime to watch? Click here to know how. Here's a link that will tell you: NO recommendation threads allowed right now! Both are stickied topics at the top of this forum and not hard to find at all. And the second one also tells you the guidelines for a proper recommendations thread, should they allow them again sometime. Good luck with the anime hunt. |
