I'm glad to hear that Kamichu! is still at the level of quality that I have come to love from the first two volumes. I'm also glad to hear that Megan Harvey is still doing a great job(not that I doubted it anyway ).
I'm gonna have to keep a watch out for volume three at my usual anime sources. Thanks for the great review!

I almost cried at the end of the episode where the siblings ran away. It was just so touching.
Also, the God of Death was the cutest one I've every seen. I hope she makes another appearance (unlikely, but I can hope).

This show is wonderful and very fresh, now if only I could buy the DVDs without looking like a total weirdo...

That's what the internet is for!
...apart from porn...
Kamichu! looks wonderful, something that probably would be perfect to my tastes--and it's been getting glowing reviews constantly for every volume. So why haven't I watched/bought it yet? Oh yes, that's right. I'm broke.

Ah, but that's the magic of anime; you could be buying Elfen Lied, Kamichu, Girls Bravo, or Piano, and the difference in "perceived weirdness" will be much less than the difference between the series themselves, since there's a "base weirdness level" for buying anime to begin with.
I think I shall take Kamichu vol. 3 with me to watch on the portable player this weekend--I'm sure I'll enjoy it as much or more as I did the previous volumes. I rushed out (well, "rushed" via FireFox to DDD) to pre-order the first volume and start collecting the series as soon as I read its review here, and I haven't regretted doing so one bit.

I picked up my copy on Wednesday. So far I have been able to get all of the pencil boards as well. These are really eye catching with the colours just poping off the plastic. I'm going to watch it either tonight or tomorrow. I love one of the first episodes that involves the missing god and how he sort of apologizes for his absence and messing up. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the Yamato episode. I don't always like what warships do but I surely find them interesting.
I hope people can get over the weirdness they feel when they buy things. I know that the observers (vendors and others) can play a part in that feeling but I also know that when some of them are buying things that they feel are valid (and of value) they are not seeking your approval or input.
