Sorry, the correct answer was "What is FUNimation?" |

Why isn't NamDai releasing it here?

Wow that sounds like it'd be a fun game and a good use for touch screen capabilities.

I think you should go check out some of the videos to where your drawing the alchemical circles on the touch screen. It's a very cool idea, I don't know if it's going to work during actual gameplay.....but with all the different games coming out on DS, and with region free games I might buy one if the price is right... *sigh* First of all, let me say that I mean no offense to the DS users, supporters, or fans of the games it features, but I simply DESPISE the DS' existence to no end...
And I can't support a FMA game being featured on it. FMA being one of my all-time favorite anime/manga series, all that came to mind when I read this news title was, "WTF?!" and then all was silent. I've seen many uses of the so-called 'revolutionary' touch-screen, and I've come to the understanding that it doesn't work as well as many would have you believe. After witnessing the effects it had on drawing Packman, I can't fathom the results of attempting to draw something as complex as a transmutation circle. |

Wow, what the hell? This reply makes no sense at all to me. What in the world is there to hate about the DS? Crikey. |

I believe that Ashen Phoenix is referring to the fact that several DS games (That use Touch Screen for the majority of gameplay) have had issues where the screen doesn't recogize the your stylus, or doesn't do exactly what you try to draw on the screen. So something as complex as alchemy circle could be a problem if the touchscreen doesn't work correctly.....althought I have no evidence that the gameplay is bad....I just think that's what Ashen Phoenix was referring to. As for hating on the DS, the new lite really correct any problems that the previous version had, Nintendo really does have the portable market in the hand. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

Yeah, I'm sure this game obviously designed for younger people will require you to draw extremely complicated alchemy circles exactly as they appear in the show. C'mon guys. You know it isn't going to be like that. Use a little common sense. Most games on the DS that require drawing are no more complicated than basic shapes or squiggles. |

I am sorry maybe I didn't explained myself, from the video I have seen the game shows a circle on the touch screen and you just follow the lines, very simple. But if the game touch screen is faulty (or touchpad not be able to read the stylus correctly) like other games it would make gameplay very difficult. Specifically if you are in a battle trying to do a transmutation and the pad doesn't function correctly and you die because of it, very frustrating. I agree with you, the game is suppose to be with kids and hopefully everything works right.....I am not trying to bag on the game and in fact I hope this game turns to be a winner. |

http://media.ds.ign.com/media/735/735157/vids_1.html <-- Japanese commercial of this game shows a simple transmutation circle being drawn. Theres a game called "Lost Magic" for the DS where the whole game revolves around you drawing "runes" in real time. The most accruate you draw (slowly) the stronger attack, the faster you draw the weaker the attack is. The game actually worked out quite well and was rated around 6.0-7.0 since it had some big glitches... Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow also requires you to draw certain things to finish off bosses in the game. Btw, there are (usaually) tutorials to get you started on these as well... and drawing certain designs on the touch screen isn't that hard either... |

WTH?! They're making it like Super Mario Bros. and they're having it follow the plot if the anime? I think that if it's in that format then it definitely won't be as exciting as 3D RPGs like Knights of the Old Republic or Metal Gear Solid. I mean (it's probably just me) Super Mario Bros. isn't that exciting. Of course, with this game, there's alot more to it considering how there's an actual story instead of jumping on Goombas and other things while collecting mushrooms, feathers, and fire-flowers, but still.... Unless of course there's something I'm missing about the format of the game. |

I see Ashen Phoenix referenced Pac-Pix for DS as a game that proves the touch screen is bad. Yeah, well, one of the major complaints about that game was that the drawing detection of the game was way too strict. The touch screen on the DS is amazingly accurate, but if the programmers for a particular game implement a stricter detection system for drawings, like transmutation circles or Pac-Man, then the game may be more frustrating. As a game with awesome handwriting detection, go play Brain Age...
And SharinganEyes92, the mediocre side-scrolling action genre has been and still is the licensed cash-in developer's favorite choice for over 20 years! |

I think a side-scroller would be a great idea, could have a lot of action. But 3D on the DS that's on par with KOTOR and MGS? Not gonna happen.

I'm more amused by the fact that there will be a "Whack-A-Homunculus" mini-game.

If you are having problems with your touch screen, it might jsut be your DS. My DS Lite works perfect when playing games like Tetris and that Kirby game where you draw a "path" to move him... which requires using the touch screen the whole time. I use the stylus and also have this thing you tie to your finger, I use my index finger, to touch the screen. Even my regular finger works on the damn touch screen.
