I've seen alot of anime lately , some i would say pretty good and some quite poor in my taste. Surfing around the net, i stumbled upon an anime that realy caught my attention, Afro Samurai. Watching the trailer of Afro Samurai over and over, i can only drool over the quality and the originality of the main character in this anime. And having Samuel.L.Jackson as Afro Samurai ? Holy cow, this might be the first anime i would prefer english audio over its original audio.
So i couldnt resist register here, and have a chance asking if anyone has more information regarding Afro Samurai and its release date ?

Afro Samurai
As of now, I do not believe a date has been given. All we know is that it will air on SpikeTV. I thought there were more news articles linked from the encyclopedia, but I guess I was wrong. I checked out the official page and saw the trailer. All I have to say is "that was off the chain, g*d *a*n *o*h* *u*k*". If you watch the trailer, you know what it says. "Hang Man" anyone? |

I read somewhere (although don't remember where) it'll probably be early next year for a dvd release. On this show the original Audio is the English Audio. This isn't a show that is being dubbed from a Japanese version. This is a brand new one in English first

Wait, so it's animated in Japan then dubbed in America first?
This looks really kick ass imo  Samual L. Jackson as the main role too, haha

I think Studio Gonzo was doing it both here in the US and Japan? There was a representative from Gonzo in LA that posted a few weeks ago. Maybe he'll make a pit stop at ANN again and fill in the blanks
This show looks really good. The animation is gorgeous and I think this is going to be one of those Anime Classics not to be missed! (*Sets her TiVo*) |

When I heard that Gonzo was dong the animation, I know that the visuals would be amazing. I mean loo at what they did with Chrono Crusade, Samurai 7, and of course Gankutsuou.
And with Sam Jackson, on here, the audio will be something to look foward to. Maybe Spike will be able to get other hot shows, of course manly series since it is "the 1st network for MEN", but here's hoping. |

Afro Samurai will be on SpikeTV this fall I guess. Probably on the October or November or something. I don't know.

No info on the rest of the cast? As great as Samuel L Jackson is, it would be nice to know who else will be providing the voices. It would suck if Samuel L's Afro Samurai is the only character with a decent voice.
