Super excited about this show! Summer is going to be a good season. Is there a good chance it'll be simulcasted?

I'd love for this to be an adaptation of the original manga's last two volumes, which never got adapted - they had some of Genshiken's best content. I guess it all depends on how willing Production I.G. is to please the fans, though - it's not often you see Blu-Ray extras amounting to two manga volumes worth of content...

So, the Genshiken 2 anime ended with material not yet adapted. Does that mean if I have only watched the anime, Genshiken: Second Season will begin with a time jump?

I believe the new anime series (Genshiken: The Second Season) will start off with the new story/characters, however, this bonus anime mentioned to be included on dvd/blu-ray will likely be an OVA which will hopefully serve as a tie in between what happened after the Genshiken 2 anime and before this new Second Season.

I love Genshiken and I really hope this gets licensed. I honestly wonder what the chances are considering MB is probably not in the shape to be licensing stuff and if they do we may never see it released. Perhaps sentai will pick it up since they get so much from each season. One can hope anyway. Hope at the very least it will stream on CR.

If this is more like the first Genshiken rather than the 2nd, I'm sure it will be good. I was pretty disappointed with Genshiken 2.....it was a chore to get through.

How is this a second season when there already was one a long time ago? Shouldn't they call this 3RD Season? (Either way, it's a rather lame subtitle)

The manga is called second season, but I agree calling the anime that is a little confusing.

In this case I think it's ANN being incorrect with the title. As I said in the other thread, the name of the soon-to-air Genshiken anime is Genshiken Nidaime. This does not translate at all into anything like '2nd season'. If English must be used in place of Nidaime then "Second Generation" is probably the best fit.

2nd Season is completely wrong. If you're referring to Genshiken 2nd season then you are referring to this:
anime#7985

Eh, I was under the impression that Anime Spotlight was produced with material provided by, and under the oversight of the Japanese companies. I think if that's what they call it there, then that's what the producers intend for it to be called.
