It made $48,000 in 24 hours and is now $2,000 away from getting an english dub? Wow.
Just goes to show that if people want it, they are willing to pay for it(and quickly apparently).

I wonder which studio will be used for the English dub. For these kinds of productions, the most likely candidates seem to be Bang Zoom or NYAV Post.

If the descriptions are to be believed, it's all of the TV series plus some extra material, which.... would make this a two hour plus plus movie?

Here's their description:
Quote: | The movie connects the 6 episodes with new scenes, and includes a new beginning and ending. The response that we've gotten is that the movie is a substantially different experience from watching the 6 episodes. The movie takes you outside of the Time of EVE cafe into the world of the Ethics Committee, and reveals more of the backstory of the characters. Plus, there is a new ending song by no less than Kalafina, which has been a very exciting collaboration for this project. As Akiko would put it, the movie and the 6 episodes "look the same, but in inside they are completely different." |

The movie is the superior version. It offers a good bit of background info not found in the ONA and the transitions between 'episodes' are very well done. I highly recommend the movie version. The ending theme by Kalafina is quite beautiful as well.

Just goes to show you how much more it costs to make a dub... which is why I'd be perfectly happy paying less for my anime if a dub wasn't included at all lol
That said, this probably hit the goal(s) so quick because everyone is at least doing the $55 pledge (to get the BR).
Incidently, I pledged $55

DAMN!! That was fast. I was just one the site last night and it was closing in on the first goal. I didn't even know about the dub. Well, if folks want it then they have to really put into it. This is impressive.

Another example that fans will pay for quality anime and physical extras.

I'm hoping they might do a sound track next, even if its a free digital download with a code included in an email or in the BD case.

The movie explains some things more and better than the OVA. It flows better in the movie. Also the ED song is beautiful.
