Kinda surprised Pokemon isn't on the poll, but I've always leaned towards wanting to go to the Digital World more anyway, because even though I only get one monster, it can talk! And snuggle up in bed with me! And go back down to a smaller size after awesome fights!

Honorable mention to Kino and Hermes from Kino's Journey. Seeing anyone teamed up with a talking motorcycle is kind of odd...

There is no fourth place. Jet and Yamamoto tied for third place.
The world from MÄR should definitely be in the poll.

The first thing that came to my mind after seeing the "swept away to a fantasy world" poll was Now and Then, Here and There. That show ruined that story type for me.

Of course I have to go with the Problem Children world, because if they bring me into that world, I'm either really crafty and/or really OP.

I voted for Gaea, because...robots! But there's no Byston Well, or the twelve kingdoms, the world in Those Who Hunt Elves or Ashanti from Leda. There's tons and tons of "other world" fantasy anime.

I would vote for Aqua from Aria, about the worst that could happen to you is that you have a strange yet moving experience from the will of the city who manifests as a giant cat.

I have to go with El Hazard from the new poll. I just know that my super ability would be shapeshifting, but I could only use it if I didn't make puns.
Does Aincrad really count or are we going with the assumption that there is an actual alternate world that exactly mimics the V R world we know?

When I was reading this list,"The Odd Couple" theme was running though my head. I like this list. It's a pretty good one. But,I would like to say one thing about the number one odd couple on this list. America and Canada from "Hetalia--Axis Powers." Although the portrayal is a silly one,my view of the relationship between the U.S. and Canada is very different.
I have a lot of respect for our good neighbor to the north. Our two countries share the largest undefended border on earth. And Canadians have contributed a lot to their southern neighbor. Many Canadians in America became well-known entertainers, businessmen, politicians, etc. Many of the early pioneers of Hollywood were from Canada. Mack Sennett,Allan Dwan,Mary Pickford, and many others contributed to making Hollywood the powerhouse it would become.
Even today, people like John Candy,Phil Hartman,Dan Ackroyd and others are well-known Canadians in American entertainment. The inventor of basketball,James Naismith was originally from Canada. The creator of Revlon Cosmetics was also from Canada. So,Canada's done a lot for it's southern neighbor. Stuff that it should be proud of.

Uotani and Hanajimda kind of remind me of Chizu and Ayane from Kimi ni Todoke. I'm very surprised Fushigi Yuugi wasn't on the poll though.

For the poll, I went with Dog Day's Flonyard. It's a world almost entirely at peace, where nations compete through "wars" that are just sporting competitions where no one gets hurt, because no one can get hurt, since the magical power that exists in that world protects people from harm. As long as you stay where the power is concentrated at least, but the places where the power is strong include all the populated areas in the various kingdoms and the roads connecting them.
There are demons who can cause disruptions in Flona power, but most of them are wiped out now, so attacks are pretty rare, and there are some very competent people working to hunt the few remaining demons and ensure they don't harm anyone. Thus, there is virtually no threat of violent death in Flonyard.
Also, the same magical power that protects everyone can be used for a variety of purposes, from superhuman feats like flying, to powering modern technology like cell phones. So not only can I learn to fly and do all sorts of cool sword moves and stuff, I don't even have to give up my modern technology conveniences.
Unless you have a particular hatred of cat/dog/other-animal girls/boys, that world is paradise.

I'd definitely want to visit the Digital World. No questions asked.

The Nana "couple" is a funny one as even joked upon during some episodes earlier in the series. Aww, the nostalgia now...

Exactly. The others are just too violent and it's far too easy to get yourself killed (more so than our own world). This is the only one that makes sense as you can live a long, happy, and still exciting life.
