I doubt that it's a short. Don't think Gangan Online adaptations have ever been shorts and I don't know if Square Enix does shorts.

They'll probably follow the same format as Squid Girl and Daily Lives of High School Boys where each episode contains three seven minute segments adapting one chapter of the manga. Tomoko's first year of high school ended in Chapter 37 and there are two unnumbered Christmas specials, so they have exactly enough material for thirteen episodes.

I think OreImo can be considered as one even though it focuses more on the male MC.
Anyway, I am glad that I am going to get to watch this in the next season.

I'm well aware how unlikely someone with Kirion's basic profile and interests would be in real life(I do suspect that there's a handful, though almost certainly nowhere near the degree of obsession). Chagen does need to take his habit of asserting his assumptions as fact.

I doubt there are people in real life who can shoot laser beams or pilot giant mecha either.
Its a cartoon, you don't need to take it to serously.

I just hope they don't tone down the harsher parts of the manga. It's a comedy, but sometimes the main character flop sweats because of social anxiety and hides in a public bathroom to cry. I think the combination of empathy, contempt, and ridicule the main character evokes is the core of the series.
