anybody who subscribes to National Geo kids(my little bro) gets a Foxbox dvd with previews of shaman king on it. I watched and and u can see major editing already and Manta is now Morty and Yoh's voice sounds like a 13 year old and Ren has become Lenny! Ren's(or lenny)sister has a british accent!? Their Chineese! It really sucks!

Um, 1)Yoh's supposed to be about 13, 2) Sometimes the Japanese use R's when they really mean "L", hence the Ren=Lenny 3)As someone once pointed out to me, since HK was once a colony of the British, that's the accent you can expect from the Chinese when they speak in English.

My god, couldn't they've just kept with ther names?! There is nothing wrong with Ren!! My god, and Manta.. Manta is not that bad of a name to say. I was.. really getting ready to expect this. Coming from 4Kids. *cries* Oh well.. I guess i'll just have to finish buying the Japanese DVDs. I just hope no kid dubbing company picks up Naruto. Then it will be the end of my life. |

Having a character named "Ren" in the U.S. will always conjure up the image of Ren from Ren and Stimpy. That's probably not what distributors are aiming for.

were getting the manga UNCUT and its alot better and for the anime if you love it so damn much buy the japanese dvds just stop bitching about a kids show ok. |

I don't see why 4Kids would change the names though.. I mean, according to the manga released by Viz, their names still stay the same. So why would they change the names for the anime?

Any hoot, much like Intial D, Americaized happens. 4Kids might not have seen the manga, or make kids think they dumb for not saying the name right. Who knows the reasons behind it, they are just looking for green, even if they make the fans of the series upset. |
