With A1's horrible track record of shonen adaptions recently, I'm worried about them doing this, and the SAO director just makes it even worse. I'm glad they have a good screenwriter on board but I'm scare they'll pull a Magi and blow through 60+ chapters of the manga in 11 episodes...

By the time anime premieres there will be only seven volumes to adapt. It will probably have an original ending.

It'll only be 11 episodes too, since they announced it'll be only 1 cour on the same poster. Theres not really too much you can do with that limited amount of episodes. |

Hopefully they'll be smart and just stick to the manga which is conveniently broken up into arcs (school semesters & seasons)
Then if the anime sells well (or gets good ratings) the next semester/season can be adapted. No need to create some B.S. original ending. |

1) This is A-1, not Bones. 2) Personally I did liked the ending of the first FMA anime... |
