So, when do you think volume 4 of Yotsuba&! will come out in the U.S., since it hasn't been canceled/put on hold? What can I be assured of date-wise?
I think sometime this year, if not, early next year. |

Seeing as how ADV hasn't CANCELLED or MADE PUBLIC a list of dropped manga, it's anyone's guess.
I really do hope they contimue it though |

UGH! I am SO mad at ADV!
The fifth volume of Yotsuba&! (in Japanese) is already out and the 4th one's been out (in Japanese) for some time now! I hate how they can be so inconsistent. When Yotsuba&! first came out I was very happy to see that the volumes were hitting the bookshelves fast but worried that it was such an irregular pattern. I'm still mad at them for dropping Your and My Secret *anger* |

Can we not let this degrade into another "I hate ADV Manga!" discussion and talk like intelligent, civilized people about Yotsuba? This thread is definitely taking a turn in that direction, and those are so tedious. We get it that you hate them. We all hate them. It's just that everyone has ranted angrily about them so many times it's just pointless to discuss our hatred for them any further. Hating on ADV Manga is on the list of no-no conversations in the fandom, right up there with fansub legality debates.

I apologize for "degrading" this topic.
As you may or may not notice, I've been a member for 2 yrs, and yet I've only made 27 posts. Most of which were probably for a survey I was doing for a research project. My point is, it's been a while since I've browsed the forums (1.5yrs at least) so I really have no idea what's been posted or not. So when I see something I feel like responding to, I do so. It just so happened this was on the first page, and near the top to boot! I apologize if my opinion somehow lowers the quality of your life or poses a serious threat to your intelligence. I'm simple minded, dimwitted infact  I only express what I feel =P probably cause I don't think often. So forgive an old lady for not being "up with the times" as you youngsters are. =)
I rather enjoy Yotsuba&! unfortunately I've only been able to read Volume 1. She's quite adorable. When I first figured out the connection between Yotsubato and Yotsuba&! I was very amused =) I thought it was a very clever play on words and it suits her character so well. So do you all think she is an alien!? *hahaha* Or just a very sweet innocent? Ah... the joke about global warming! *hahaha* If Yotsuba weren't such a unique character, I'd have a very hard time not thinking about Chiyo-chan. |

Yotsuba, according to ADV themselves, is in,"hiatus." I really just can't stand that ADV Manga grabs great manga, such as this and Aria, and stops releasing them, though I partly blame you, the average reader, for buying Inuyash the ani-manga, instead of supporting these amazing mangas.

Well, I am happy for one thing. At least it's not cancelled. It WILL come out! And when do YOU guys think it'll come out? Just to give me and others an idea or two. |

Everyone's already told you that there is no way to know anything. We can't even say for sure that's it's not cancelled really. |

I walked into my local Kinokunia the other day, and they *had* to put Yotsubato Vol. 5 in a prominent display position (in Japanese, of course). As hard as it is to not have the next volume, it's even harder to have the next volume and not be able to read it.
I'm going to ask this question here because it doesn't seem to have been answered in the last ADV thread: What are the possible eventualities of what would happen with Yotsubato? If ADV eventually declares Yotsubato cancelled, or if the company itself goes under, can it legally be picked up by another manga publishing comany? Has that ever happened in the past? If they *don't* declare the manga dead, yet they don't publish anything in a while, does Kiyohiko Azuma or whoever owns the rights for the manga have the right to re-liscence it to another company? |

Yes, licenses do have a time limit and need to be renewed or they return to the original creator, who can then sell them to another company. This has happened in the past, but it is fairly rare and unlikely to happen with most of ADVs titles I would expect, since the reason ADV is in such trouble is because many of them didn't sell. Yostuba&! might have a better chance than most though, since there seems to be a fair amount of interest in it.

I might be able to get it imported with a translation from a big comic/manga store around my area, I dunno, but I figured I'd ask what's your guesses anyway. |

I really doubt it'd be cancelled.....as long as it's not cancelled or put on hiatus forever, I'm fine.
When do you think so? We can't tell anything, but what do YOU think? I don't even know if it's on hold or not. It could be still running, but no new volumes have been released...yet. |
